We have a unit with Prime Storage in…
We have a unit with Prime Storage in Aberdeen, MD. They bought the building that ExtraSpace Storage was renting and took over. We were going to move out and go to the new ExtraSpace Storage they opened in Abingdon, MD. Since we had a great experience and relationship with Ms. Bernie at ExtraSpace, but the new management at Prime Storage promised they would exceed our expectations and we would be happier with them. I mentioned that communication was one of the most important things to us. Whenever we went to our unit when ExtraSpace ran it there was always someone there during their operational hours. With Prime Storage there is hardly ever anyone there during the day. Whenever I’ve been there during the day to speak with someone they have the sign up saying they’ll be back at a certain time. They never come back at that time. They charged us for insurance when we already have insurance which is a lot cheaper than thru them, and I have been trying to get a refund since July when this happened. I have called many times, spoke with several different people, was told that it’s in the system and I’ll be receiving a credit, and still have not received anything. When I did finally find someone in the office it reeked of pot. I thought I was going to get a contact buzz. I could barely breath. On top of that the person asst. manager that is tried to cover the stench up with some kind of spray which made it worse. They increased the rate by $47 and said it’s to adjust to the market, but they are about $81 higher for similar unit sizes. I’ve also been told on many occasions that the district manager would reach out to me about the insurance issue and also to talk about adjusting the rate accordingly and have not heard from anyone in the 2 months they’ve been saying this. My messages do not get returned and their excuse is they didn’t see they had a message. I saw their system and it’s a computerized system that records basically like a caller id that shows what time the call comes in, the date and if there was a message left. So either they never look at the system or they lie like a rug. Either way do not trust Prime Storage. I am now looking for a rental truck and looking for a unit to rent in the new ExtraSpace storage where I should have moved to last year when Prime Storage took over. My gut feeling was right and I should have stuck with it. Stay away from Prime Storage at all costs. They are the worst I have ever dealt with and I’ve been renting storage units for many years from Storage King, ExtraSpace, and Public Storage, but Prime Storage is definitely the worst. There is no communication whatsoever. Do not trust them at all. You can tell they are lying when their lips are moving.
