It took them 3 MONTHS to "clean up" my books for 2025, and they didn't even do a good job. They outsource the actual bookkeeping to slow, unskilled teams in India, and a brick wall could communicate more than my "account manager" in the US did. She repeatedly ignored my questions via email. When I complained to the manager of my "account manager", she mentioned that said "account manager" manages over TWO HUNDRED accounts. No wonder she couldn't respond to any of my questions. What a complete joke. Also, the fact that it was a TEAM of people in India instead of just one person, opened up so much room for miscommunication amongst themselves, meaning nothing got done properly. Finally when they were done "cleaning up" my books, I went into Quickbooks and noticed a ton of transactions that they miscategorized and I had to fix myself anyway. It's quite clear that "Powered Books" is just a cash grab, borderline scam company that does not care about the quality of their work at all, and instead chooses to invest their money into Facebook ads and salespeople to hook large numbers of gullible small business owners like me with "too good to be true" low prices. You will do MUCH MUCH better to go on Upwork and find yourself one real human being to do your bookkeeping for you, who you can directly communicate with without all these bloodsucking middlemen making everything worse.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!.............I have had the worst experience with this company. They have an American sales person, Katelynn who promises you everything and acts like she is an accountant and the owner of the company and in charge. Once they make the sale you never here from this person again. All the bookkeeping work is done in India, where the person there once again promises you anything you want to hear but does not deliver any useful information in the way of your books. Communication is not good. It is impossible to visit with anyone over the phone or with the company owner. The CPA that they assigned to me to do my taxes had significant diabetic health issues and gave me back the most crazy tax return you could ever imagine. I am sure it did not help due to the books that were in complete chaos that they gave to him to do them with. You could get him on the phone but he would tell you anything you wanted to hear and then would stop communicating. They then assigned a new CPA to me, and he also finally gave up a few days before taxes were due. I finally had to find a local CPA to do my taxes as an emergency that ended up being almost a month past tax day before they were completed. This was a very bad experience, is all I can tell you. I will never use an online firm again. Go local so you can walk into an office if things are not going well. It is too easy to sell you on anything they like and not deliver when you don't have to ever look someone in the eye, especially when the people doing all the work are in India. Support your fellow Americans is what I have learned the hard way.

To whomever may be reading this review, I only write reviews if an experience has left me thoroughly impressed or disappointed. Unfortunately, in this case, it was the latter. As I was preparing to write this review, I actually saw another one star review from someone else. It was posted a month before mine and they had the exact same experience as me. Abysmally poor communication, long wait times, missed deadlines and shocking unprofessional behavior. Upon hiring this company, we were told the process would take 2-3 weeks maximum. It took 5 weeks. During this process, we would routinely receive requests for information via an email in the morning. We would always reply immediately. However, we would not receive a response for 24-48 hours. Oftentimes, we would send them information only to have them ask us for the same information again. Also, no one answers the phone. I would have to call 8-12 times, on average, before someone picked up the phone. Most of the time, as I was calling, our account manager Jeffrey would text and tell me that he would call me back. Which means that he and whoever was present in the office knew I was calling and simply ignored my calls. After missing a promised deadline by a week, I asked our account manager Jeffrey for a telephone conversation more than half a dozen times. He blatantly ignored my requests and I have the text messages to prove it. After the missed deadlines, the horrible communication, and the unprofessional behavior from Jeffrey, I wanted to speak to someone in charge. I called, and called and called and called some more. Until finally, after another dozen calls, Katie picks up. I tell her that I want to speak with Jeffrey’s supervisor directly. She tells me that his name is Marc and he is the owner. She then refuses to give me any of his contact information. Only after a second conversation with her and after asking if she thought denying a paying customer an avenue to air their grievances was a good business practice, did she finally give me his email. I immediately emailed Marc who replied that he would “investigate” my complaints and follow up to set up a phone call with me. He sent me an email three days later which basically excused his employee’s behavior. And, of course, he did not set up a phone call with me. Do not use this company. TLDR: Do not use this company

3 months in and we still aren't set up. We get passed from department to department and no one has answers or follows through until at least 4 days in between. So sorry we bought the promises.

I am not sure where they are getting these people to write these reviews but they are not legit. I was with them for almost a year and they asked me to be a reference within days of me signing up. Clearly, this is the situation with these reviews. They did not reconcile our books and always had an excuse. Their system of storing documents is heavily flawed and invoices were "lost" and were not entered in Quickbooks. They do not use standard accounting practices. It could be because their entire staff (outside of salespeople) are based in India. In the end, and almost a year with them, we canceled service as the owner was clearly incompetent. We issued chargebacks and the credit card company agreed with us. I would stay away from this company at all costs!
