As every other review they are a RIPOFF. Had my own I- pass registered. They still (HERTZ) activated the transponder in the car and somehow did an over ride of my plate registration with my I- pass. Have obtained a Patron Report from I-pass as they stated I did everything right to register the car. Getting nothing but BS from Hertz and Platepass in my attempts to forward my Patron report to them. Decide to get my credit card company involved and requested a disputed charge so they are taking over from here.

What a dirty business, but after dealing with Hertz, I would expect nothing less. My convenience charge was more than double the actual tolls. That's not a "convenience fee" it's a scam

My child accidentally activated the tolling option on my rental car, upon which Platepass charged the maximum rate. I negotiated with the company that they reduce the rate for the accidental activation. I was pretty shocked to see them still charge the original (maximum) rate without further information.

0 stars for this scammy company. They charged me for tolls I did not use. I declined their services at the beginning of the rental and brought my own ezpass tag with me, and my tag was charged. I passed by 5 tolls in total. After I returned my rental (Hertz), platepass charged me with 30+ tolls, and in cities and states I haven't even been in during the duration of the rental. Before leaving the rental car parking lot, I made sure to check if there is an EZ pass transponder in the car. There was not. I tried talking to them, and sent them a screenshot of my toll charged to my ezpass. they told me they will make an investigation, but after a day they message me to tell me that "they were unable to identify any discrepancies". 0 stars if possible.

Platepass is a total scam. I rented a car for 4 days and received multiple bills for tolls and each bill adds a $9.99 convenience fee. Not one toll fee came to $9.99, so you are paying more in fees than you are in tolls. I will not be renting from ANY rental car company that uses the Platepass service.

This is a fraud, first and foremost. I NEVER use the "Plate Pass" program from Hertz. You pay 2-3 times what the tolls actually are for the "privilege". This is a scam sold by American Traffic Solutions to all the rental companies. Instead of paying the toll for 1.25 with your own iPass or similar, you pay $2.50 AND the SERVICE FEE of $9.99 per day. ATS is making millions off lazy renters who never look at the bill, just as they designed this theft system. I ALWAYS use my own iPass transponder on my regular route in FL from MCO to Stuart. The tolls come to $2.97. Then Hertz, aka Plate Pass, aka ATS bills me $11.99 for the privilege of being their fraud victim. It's time for a class action lawsuit.

False charges thru hertz.

$9.99 service charge for a $2.95 toll seems excessive.
