I didn’t love this trip
I didn’t love this trip. The snorkeling was ok at best. Not great visibility or diversity of undersea life. The guides on Sea Serpent did nothing to promote safety or point out sea life. They just seemed to be there to hold a life preserver if anyone needed it. At one point the boat started to pull away when two snorkelers were still in the water.

Thank you, Maxine, for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your Red Sea trip didn’t meet your expectations. While the Red Sea is known for excellent visibility, conditions can occasionally be less favorable, particularly at low tide or during periods of wind. We always aim to choose the best sites and timing, but on a liveaboard, offering up to four snorkeling sessions a day sometimes means adapting to the conditions at the time. Regarding marine life, the trip delivered close to the full range of encounters we can reasonably hope for on this itinerary, including dugong, pods of spinner and bottlenose dolphins, green sea turtles, several species of stingrays, guitarfish, crocodilefish, six species of scorpionfish/lionfish, giant morays and a great diversity of reef fish, as well as less commonly seen species such as the Red Sea walkman, halfmoon angelfish and eagle rays. Some encounters can, of course, be brief -as was the case with the eagle rays- meaning that not every participant will necessarily see every species spotted during the trip. Safety is our top priority on every trip. All snorkeling sessions are supervised in the water by our snorkeling guides, supported by two dinghies that continuously monitor the group and assist whenever needed, while additional watch is maintained from the mother ship. We’re always looking for ways to make our trips even better, and we truly appreciate your comments, which we’ll keep in mind as we continue improving the experience for our future guests. We’re sorry again that this trip wasn’t quite the experience you had hoped for. Guillaume
