Philo actually does control the advertising on their platform. The commercials like 'boss moves with rashida' and all the mtv and vh1 commercials that they constantly show are Philo commercials. It does not matter what station you are watching either. The other streaming services do not show these commercials. This is the reason we no longer subscribe to Philo. Complete trashy commercials. ALL THE TIME TOO!

High cost & way too many ads
High cost. Ads are too long and frequent given the high price. Not enough shows.

WAY too many commercials
I've been a Philo customer for years. The programming is actually pretty decent, BUT - the big but - they really have gotten out of control with the commercials. There are literally commercials about every 10 minutes. I spend more time watching commercials than actual programs which totally sucks. I'll sit down to have lunch and think "I'm going to watch for 1/2 hour while I eat lunch" that 1/2 hour turns into 3/4 commercials :( And to boot, they show the same commercial over and over and over again - I mean come on, it's bad enough wasting my time (and money) with so many commercials, but it's so much worse when it's the same one over and over! Stop the insanity with so many commercials Philo!

Philo is ok
Philo is ok. It’s not the best, especially with the monthly price. Peacock, Tubi and Prime has just as good quality for watching shows and with a much LOWER PRICE. Philo needs to cut back with the commercials as they are sometimes between 5-8 minutes in one setting. That’s just ridiculous. I’ll pass on their HIGH PRICES just to watch tv.

Stop the Spanish commerials
You can stop either these Spsnish commerials. If I wanted to here Spanish I would watch a Soanish channel. Makes no sense . The shows are all in English. Then a commerial comes on in Spanish. Not just one either. Seems like it is having more and more.

Video quality and content options not worth the cost are…
Video quality and content options are good but the frequency of ads for $25 a month is insanity. Not worth it.

Not enough info available
I am on a fixed income so money is a priority and the price was a big factor. However, you can never get a customer service person to answer questions about what is offered, other than the channels. That should have been a signal to me. You are drawn in due to pricing but unless you are big on streaming or watching a show while it's on, then they are 2 to 3 episodes behind. They offer no updated programming on their Paramount channel so if you like any of the newer Treks, you are out of luck or other recent Paramount shows. They advertise they have shows they don't have UNLESS you pay for a premium like Starz so that's, to me, deceitful but then that seems to be the m.o. of all businesses. If none of this is a concern and you really don't have favorites you follow, then for the money it's worth it. I will cancel the ap.

This streaming app is a bit of a technical joke
This streaming app is a bit of a joke. Comes with commercials FYI, which I'm okay with, but it doesn't allow you to fast-forward or rewind. At all. So, if you missed something that was said, or didn't catch something on the screen, good luck! You have to re-start the ENTIRE episode/movie. Who's came up with this idea?
On top of that, there are so many technical glitches. I've been using Philo for about 4 days now, and I've already experienced multiple technical glitches.
For example, I got a true "glitch" screen display, with lines of bright pink and neon green glitching erratically all over the screen as the episode continued playing. The sound tracking was fine though.
Another technical glitch I've already experienced multiple times is where I get random zooming. I'll be watching a show, and the screen will suddenly zoom in on the corner of the show. So then I have a partial, but very intense, close-up of the actors' faces, and I can't see anything else happening on the show.
Unless they update their software and UI/UX design really soon, I wouldn't recommend using Philo.
And it's not like they're new at streaming, so...
