Frustrated C.
I have had Petlink for one of my dogs for over 8 years (lifetime) and no issues. I rescued another dog and was given the first year free from the rescue. Yesterday I paid to upgrade for the lifetime membership at $19.95 and saw there was a promotion on my account to upgrade to a lifetime membership for $24.95 with several "gifts" for doing so. There was even an "upgrade button"to click on. When I contacted customer service they told me this is just a survey and not really what was described. I asked to be refunded for the $19.95 since it was misleading and not to renew this dog's membership. They deleted my account TOTALLY for both dogs. The dog I had a lifetime membership for over 8 years is totally gone and I am not recognized in their system at all. So the dog I did not renew is not in the data base nor the one that I paid a lifetime membership for. (so basically they took my money and lifetime membership away and not sure how they can do that) Customer service has yet to rectify this which is so disappointing. I was actually hung up on today while trying to reach someone in management. It has been a time consuming and frustrating experience to say the least and lacking in customer support. I will update this review when and if I hear back from Petlink.

I received what appeared to be an "Urgent" notice from Petlink stating that I needed to pay my one tme registration fee of approximately $20. After I payed the fee and the payment was shown to have been processed by my bank, I still get a demand message to pay their fee. Whenever I login now I continue to receive the same demand message that there is a problem with my account and I need to pay their $20 fee.

Customer service just directed me to the website instead of handling the situation for starters. Went to the website to transfer the animals that was abandoned by my x-roommate. I’ve been taken care of them for over a year in a half & it asks for medical records but they were all up to date on vaccines and everything before she abandon them. They never had any health issues of any sorts cause I take care of them and their indoor animals. Unfortunately the website asks for proof of ownership, they’re living under my roof & being taken care of by me. Apparently have to jump threw hoops to get ownership. Just going to drop out in the wild then.

Hello, We apologize for the difficulty you have had attempting to transfer ownership to your name. There are other options we can explore, please call (781) 281-2216, and we can discuss your options and how to transfer these pets. Again, we apologize for the difficulty you faced and the inconvenience it caused.

Horrible customer service. Horrible customer protection. Horrible pet protection. They practically facilitated the theft of my pet. Someone besides me initiated a transfer of ownership… when they called to verify with me I denied it! But they did it anyway.

We are very sorry you had this experience. When you reached out to us about your concerns, we investigated who may have initiated the request, including going through emails and listening to incoming recorded phone calls. Unfortunately, we could not find the source of who requested the transfer and why. As a remedy, we put a "DO NOT TRANSFER" flag on your and your pets' accounts so that the system will not allow anyone to transfer any of your pets. Additionally, you let us know your pet was lost, so we filled out a lost pet report so that if anyone finds your pet, they can scan her for their microchip and know to call us to begin the reunification process with you. We are continuing to look into who requested the transfer, in case we discover anything additional. Again, we are very sorry you had this experience and we are working to prevent this from happening to anyone again.

The PetLink microchip failed and I contacted them. They said for me to have my Vet contact them and they would send them a new. My Vet tried several times to get ahold of them and finally did. I asked Petlink to send me a replacement metal tag for my dog's collar and they sent me the same one with the failed microchip number. After several back and forth with PetLink (2 weeks) they blamed me and wanted me to start over and reorder the new replacement tag. I told them to go to Hell, refund my money and I ordered one off of Amazon for $10 and it came in 3 days later. I will never do business with Petlink again and I have told all of my friends to stay away from them. And to Petlink do not contact me or even respond to this feedback. I could care less what you have to say. You even lied on your response back to me on this review. I copied and paste the last communication from you and here it is. "Please submit a new tag order with microchip number 981020051234332 if you wish to receive one. We have no order history from you with that microchip number, and we can not generate a new order on customer's behalf. Both your original order and the replacement order is with microchip number 981020037512803." I never submitted another replacement order but NOW you are sending the tag with the new chip number like you were suppose to in the first place. When I get it I am going to cut it up and throw it away.

Hello Daniel, We spoke to your pet's Vet the same day you reached out to us regarding the microchip issue. We let the vet know that it would take 3 weeks for them to receive the replacement chip. This is what cause confusion regarding the collar tag - PetLink employees cannot create orders for customers, the customers must do this themselves. So when you alerted us the microchip number was incorrect (old number), a replacement was already sent for the collar tag that did not arrive. We then created another replacement order with the correct microchip number and you should be receiving any day.
