PetfinderReviews of petfinder.com

For years, I tried to adopt instead of purchasing a puppy/dog. I, however, end up buying a puppy from a private source. I have seen the same dogs/puppies from the same shelters for many months, but when I tried to adopt, they all either not responded or made me jumped through many hoops making it almost impossible to adopt one.

I find you can't give a real locations of your area. When you try to change what area they gave you you can't change it or specify what region you would like to check. When you give them a rescue or shelter and find nothing there that your looking for they automatically give you another area that is quite far from where you live ( hundred of miles away). I feel sorry for those that use them to show the pets they are trying to find homes for.

I think this site goes too far as far as pet adoption sites are concerned. You have to give them way too much personal and pet history. A potential agency may contact you and give you the riot act saying that don't have any idea how to take care of your animals when you have had animals over 30 years. Plus they give vague information on the shelters. I also believe that some of the shelters, don't care for the animals properely, based on my personal experience with this site. I may have to report one of these shelters to animal control for neglect of an animal.

I put in application after sign up and fill out adoption process. after a week or two did not hear back. will not send any money to a sit that doesn't have phone number for it business.
