Terrible. Try to duke me into believing I need termite treatment yearly on a new home. And quarterly on pest control. At 70.00 month. High pressure sales. Buyer beware!! Horrible scammers.

First thing, the sales guy tricked us, he said you can do trail and see how it works, but didn’t told us that he was putting in year subscription. Second, we are not satisfied with the service; there’s no effects no changes - the ants, spiders and other pests were everywhere. We bought pesticides from market and used them to control them. After two months we knew Hometeam is taking money every month from our account without providing service. When we tried to report and cancel they said we have one year subscription and they will charge if we cancel. That’s the worst subscription scam ever I had.

This company had a contract with my home builder to install their pest control tubes inside the walls of my house. I've called them to come out and spray through the portals they installed but they refused to perform a one-time service and tried to pressure me into a monthly subscription. I tried to find other companies to use those same portals but did not end up finding anyone. Turns out it's a proprietary system that only they can service that apparently gets clogged up and becomes uslesss after a few years of service. Months later I tried calling them again asking if they had a one-time service yet and they offered me a price that was 4 times the price of their monthly service fee and I declined as it sounded fishy. I just called again a year or so later to see if anything had changed. Website said they would call back in an hour or two. They didn't call for another 24 hours. Then they quoted me 3 times the original quoted price saying it was because they knew I called before. That quote was the equivalent of 9 months of monthly service payments. Sounds like a scam to me.

They are not worth it, save yourself a ton of frustration and just pick any one else. To explain. They are sneaky. They will work with the builder of your home to install this in-wall system, so then when you move in they explain "oh you should use this service they have this in wall treatment". Then they scam you. You sign up they treat your home quarterly but then you pay monthly. In the last month before the next treatment you can expect a lot of bugs. Their big scams are the "ant barrier" and the termite warranty. For the ant barrier they basically spread some granules on your yard every six months and then they charge you monthly for that. They have to charge monthly for that because if they tried to get you to pay $200 for a six month ant treatment you'd say no because it by no means works for 6 months. It basically stops working after one month because fire ants are super persistent. Its just how they roll. So when you go to cancel they are going to say "you owe $120 for your ant treatment we did 2 months ago. Did they tell you that they were doing an ant treatment that youre going to pay off for 6 months? Absolutely not, they just trap you in there. For the termite warranty they will just do a little digging around the home, see that you don't have termites, and then bail and collect your hundreds of dollars for the year. No prevention, no rechecks, just 5 minute inspection and they take the money and run. I was a customer of theirs for 4 years and let me save you the burden of having absolutely mediocre pest treatment only to be surprised with a cancellation bill.

Would not recommend this company! They treated my home for termites prior to it being built and my home builder purchased a 2 or 3 year termite warranty from them. Well, I moved in not even a year ago and just found termites for the second time. When I reached out to HomeTeam Pest Defense to get them out here to treat them again, they essentially told me they can't help because I don't have pest control with them. They wanted me to send pictures of the termites so I did, they then told me that they were earwigs and not termites. Gave them the benefit of the doubt for the larva because they are so dang small, but then they told me that the tunnel was also earwig activity. If you want a company that honors contracts and knows the difference between termites and earwigs I would NOT recommend HomeTeam Pest Defense.

We had a 1 year contract with an agreed upon rate. When we informed them that we would not be renewing the contract at expiration...they charged us 70.49 above what the contract allowed. They also removed the equipment and terminated service before the end of the contract, although we had paid for the service until the end of the contract. We had to contact our Credit Card provider as HomeTeam Pest Defense would not remedy their overcharge. Corrupt bad business...DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I purchased 10 of these "Pest Defense" units with an extended (1 year )warranty. Placed them in my home, garage and barn. After the first three months of operation 1/2 of the units failed. They replaced them. Within the next 4 months the last original 6 units failed and they replaced them. I had 4 of the replaced units failed within the one year warranty. They refused to cover any more of the units. I filed a report with the BBB. All but 1 of the units failed within 1.5 years of use. The last unit just failed less than 2 years of purchase. With this record of failure rate it is 100% as mentioned to them. In most manufacturing a 1% failure rate is not good. Some might say maybe it was the power coming into my hose. Well I have a whole home spike protector. I am not pleased with this business an if there were no stars vs one star I would have given it for Pest Defense.
