Not impressed, really hard to use. I spent way too long trying to get it to work on the app, kept sending me to different locations or language was different. Kept on getting emails to change my profile and yet profile remained invisible to users. Really do not recommend

DO NOT USE PAWSHAKE.
DO NOT USE PAWSHAKE.
If I could give them zero stars or a negative star I would.
I had an extremely poor experience with Pawshake and was left $300 out of pocket. Essentially they refused to refund my money for 10 days of pre-paid walking and feeding of my dog which was not required due to extremely unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances.
I booked 10 days of walking and feeding with Pawshake and a dog walker in Christchurch called Ellen while we were away for Christmas. Two days before we were due to go away our dog required significant emergency surgery to remove an ingrown barley grass seed. So I had to stay home to look after him post his surgery.
Obviously this situation was unforeseen, acute, disruptive for my family, expensive and quite distressing. You'd think the company or the dog walker would have some empathy?...
Anyway, I kept in touch with the walker throughout all of it and communicated clearly what was going on.
In the end I had to cancel most of my holiday and stay home to look after our loved family pet post surgery. Obviously I then didn't require Pawshake services now and had to cancel. This is where it got 'interesting'.
I was happy to contribute something for Ellen's time but thought not getting anything refunded at all was unreasonable. However Ellen went offline and would not even make contact with me to discuss a reasonable resolution - she'd got her payment from Pawshake (for doing nothing at all) so that's all she was concerned with. I was then stunned when I got a call from the NZ police to say i was 'harassing' her - after just TWO (polite) phone messages and ONE text message - none of which she replied to. So more stress to sort that out with the NZ police to explain the situation and make sure I didn't have anything on my record with them!). I guess she used her contacts or influence there somehow?
Anyway, the Pawshake people also ran a mile from their so-called 'pawshake guarantee' and refused to refund any portion of my payment. Knowing that as the are not registered in NZ they know there is no opportunity to take them to the disputes tribunal or a NZ court. They got their 26% cut so they were happy.
Which leave the out of pocket and frankly P!@#$d off customer with no-where to go but write this review and hope as many people as possible see it and take their hard earnt money elsewhere.
If you've read this far you've done well. In conclusion, DO NOT USE PAWSHAKE. :)

Hi Kevin,
We're sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience and that your dog is unwell. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can happen and we wish your dog a speedy recovery.
Your pet sitter had a moderate cancellation policy and we have processed your cancellation in line with her policy. Our guarantee is in place for the safety of guest pets, our pet sitters and to guarantee an owner's booking. Unfortunately, it does not cover change of circumstances by a pet owner.
Once again we are sorry to hear about your unfortunate circumstance and we hope your dog feels better soon.
Kind Regards,
Pawshake Support

Do not use Pawshake. The actual company themselves are useless
If we could leave less than 1 star we would. Pawshake is great until it all goes wrong. We are a sitter and also have used the services of sitters for our dog. You can find a gem and then I suggest for the benefit of you both you sort something privately so greedy Pawshake don’t make money for doing nothing. They offer guarantees and insurances but when it comes to claiming and getting support they have poor service and slow turn around times to resolve. They don’t even have a process to vet sitters. You can claim anything on your profile and it is not verified. We will not be recommending them, using them or offering our services on this app again.

DONT USE PAWSHAKE, PET SITTER USELESS
Had a pet sitter from Pawshake pet sit in our house, from December 19 2020 to Jan 8 2021, she didn't turn up for 3 days between new years eve and the 3rd Jan, left our cages and aviarys uncleaned for 3 weeks, dog urine fresh on the inside of the house, and also decided to contact RSPCA re the cleanliness of the cages, when they were cleaned before we left, and also about our dogs, one got put down due to massive weight loss and diabetes, RSPCA came out reviewed everything and were happy with how we do things, but they asked us to raise a complaint against our pet sitter, due to leaving the cages dirty for nearly 3 weeks, even thou she had 10 bags of sawdust to clean them with, so RSPCA are askant sitter why this is the case, as we have sent Pawshake photos of Cages and Aviays before we left, when we got back, and also once we had re cleaned, but Pawshake customer service dont reply, they look after and take there sitters side, not the customer, please dont use Pawshake they are dodgy and dont care about there customers, we will be using another platform, we received no updates via phone, or any photos via email, phone or the app, im extremely angry, so letting everyone know to dodge these guys and spend your money elsewhere, Pawshake guarantee is a load of rubbish.
UPDATE
Useless reply from Pawshake, RSPCA are in contact with pet sitter, as they are disgusted with the way the pet sitter, left the house and Aviarys and Cages, all were not cleaned, they have access to Photos they took and CCTV I have, Pawshake from reviews ive read dont look after the pet sitters or clients, ive contacted other pet sitters on the platform and they are not happy either.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for your review and we're so sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with your booking.
Your pet sitter expressed concern for the welfare for your animals early into the booking and raised these issues with both Pawshake and the RSPCA.
Pawshake is a community of responsible pet lovers and as a member of that community, your sitter was obliged to report what she saw to the relevant authorities.
We're sorry to hear that your sitter did not live up to your service expectations this time, as she had done on previous bookings with you.
We do hope you understand.
All the best

Run! Toxic Culture
I gave Pawshake a bad review after working with them for over five years and they responded that my "application" did not meet their requirements. In other words, they just outright lied here to make me look dodgy and themselves look better. This is exactly the sort of systematically terrible behaviour I've put up with from them for half a decade. They will no doubt write another lie beneath this. Don't believe it. Just get away from this company as quickly as you can and stay away. They are toxic.

To Pawshake founder,
To Pawshake founder,
Please train your support staff to sound more sincere and helpful instead of giving sarcastic tones. Petsitters are your partners, not your servants, we don't need lectures from your support staff.

Hi PD,
Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience with our support team. We want to assure you that our pet sitters and pet owners are all important to us. We have also reviewed the communication with the customer service rep and we are sorry if it seemed sarcastic. It was certainly not our intention.
Kind regards,

They really don't know UK Legislation regarding animal care.
As a dog owner who was looking for home boarding I looked through the list of home boarders on their website and NOT ONE home boarder in the area stated that they were holders of the AAL (Animal Activity Licence) This is a licence WHICH THEY MUST HAVE in order to home board and the UK legislation to this came into effect in October 2018. I requested information from Pawshake as to who were holders and they did not have a clue. In fact they quite clearly do not understand the Animal Act 2006 or any part of the legislation concerning animals within the UK. It doesn't matter where a business set up originally - UK, USA or anywhere else, if you provide a service in a specific country, you should know the law of that country for your industry! They obviously do not check their home boarders so beware! When questioned again their response was that the council should be informing them, again this is untrue and incorrect (once again they have shown ignorance to UK Legislation). If you want to ensure that your dogs or cats are in a fully licenced (not just insured), do not go through PawShake but ask for recommendations in your local area and ask your local council for the details of those who have a current licence. I won't be using Pawshake, I now have a fully licenced pet carer, fortunately there are professionals in the animal care industry who actually know the law and then there's Pawshake. They most likely don't even have a clue at the discussions that have been had recently, but that's ok because the professional pet care service providers do.

Terrible for communication
Tried to arrange a visit for a local Pawshake dog sitter to visit me. The website is terrible and I was unable to message the only local dog sitter I was matched with. They take ages to respond. The App is just as bad - kept logging me out and I had to keep resetting my password for some bizarre reason. I find it difficult to understand why I couldn’t email the potential dog sitter directly but the website goes on about privacy etc of the employees. I totally get that, but given they have my name, address, phone number and information about my pets, I found the company as a whole to be unhelpful and had the distinct impression they really couldn’t care less if they got my business as a customer or not.
Sort your website messaging system out - your current practices do not inspire me with confidence in putting my beloved pets in your company’s hands.
I have found a local lady who runs her business with a much more caring and personal touch (yes, she has the same accreditations as the larger businesses) and the way she treats her customers is an example Pawshake could learn from.

Hi Caroline,
Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience. Safety and privacy are very important to us and for that reason, we can not give out a sitter's personal information. At the same time we would also never share your personal information.
We're glad you found someone that is suitable for your pet and we do hope you'll consider giving us a try again in the future.
Kind regards,
Pawshake Support
