Absolutely will not be disappointed with the program. 97% on test.
So, I always think it’s funny when people start reviews by saying “ I never write reviews but I just have to for this”, well now I do get it!! That’s exactly how I feel about Part Time Pilot!! To put my experience in context I will do a brief synopsis of my so called “journey” to get where I am. I am one of those “cliche” people who have literally been pursuing flight training since I was 18 and I am now 61. I really tried to start at 18 when in Florida in the U.S.Navy but I was in Nuclear Power School and if you really care why that would not work out you can google what that school is like. So, life took over and I didn’t take any more lessons until 2016 when I was 54. I did a dozen flights and was near solo and then again life took over with a coast to coast move. I then resumed training in Seattle recently at KBFI. I had previously taken a Ground School at a flight school at KBFI and completed it about a year and a half ago and got a certificate of endorsement to take the FAA PAR (Private Pilot Airplane) test. Since I had been out of the books for some time I decided this past summer in about June or July to look for an online ground school to go through completely to get me ready again for the test. I wasn’t going to start flight instruction until after Labor Day so I had time, being retired now, to dive into the studying. I honestly don’t even know how I ended up finding Nick and Part Time Pilot but in the end I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger. Right from the start it was just great!! There are so many positive things about the program but for me it was the methodology of the presenting the materials and the detail. I read so much about taking the FAA test and it was mostly people saying and/or complaining that it was just memorization. There is no getting around that just because there are so many specific regulations etc. BUT I have always been the type of learner that needs to UNDERSTAND the concepts and details of how and why something works the way it does. I absolutely 100% believe you can then figure out most answers. Nick’s program undeniably has a lot more detailed information than you really need to pass the test BUT it is also undeniable that if you do the whole program you will feel prepared not only for the test but for all that comes with the flight training. As Nick so perfectly states you will always feel “ahead of the airplane” as your flight lessons progress. I have only flown a half a dozen times (Northwest fall weather) but already understand all of what is coming and anytime my CFI quizzes me about things during flight I feel confident and prepared. I am so anxious to fly now and learn more details about things like VOR’s and Cross Country planning etc. So, after all this rambling was I successful?? I took my FAA PAR test on 10/20/23 and got a 97%!! I missed two questions that I had never seen before but will now never forget them either 😂. In closing Nick has put together a logical and comprehensive program. I am actually not surprised as I am an engineering type and that’s the way my mind works and Nick is of the same breed!! You absolutely will not be disappointed using Part Time Pilot. I can attest to other reviews that say Nick is proactive. I emailed him quite a few times in the days before taking my test and he always, always responded promptly and with details to make sure I had a complete understanding of the issue.
