The Caliber of Your Project Deserves Better
This is my first endeavor publishing a book. I found Panda Publishing to be receptive and eager to help me in my journey. Please be wary of my testimony before you invest time and energy with this company. You ultimately "get what you pay for." Your project deserves the ultimate care and quality control prior to getting it out to the readers you are seeking. Panda Publishing does not have oversight of their team which would allow fulfillment of those very things. After payment of services, what transpired was far from what was promised. The associate assigned my project proved to lack oversight of and quality control over his team. What was promised as "a team of experts" turned out to be far from that - they are a conduit to uploading your work to KDP, not working individually with your precious project. If you are seeking a collaborative experience, this is not the right group. If your book dimensions do not readily fit the given KDP templates, they are unpracticed in adjusting for that, taking liberties with the typesetting and formatting they were never given. Ultimately, they altered the illustrations and page layout in such a way it compromised the caliber of the original submission. They wasted valuable time with poor quality review (the original proof was sent to me missing 8 of the original pages of the manuscript), leaving me without a published project and a loss of a month. My original manuscript was initially reviewed and reportedly, "good to go." After 4 proof reviews, each resubmission had added alterations and errors. The promised copyright page was a mess of hastily formatted/generated text plopped on a document, lacking style and finesse opposite a beautiful author-created title page. The promised launch date was not met. The website design I was offered for my review and approval was elementary and lacked sophistication, counter to the sample they offered me to preview. I ended up requesting a supervisor to step in - which happened - one day prior to the launch date, which was too late for me. I have no book published and no website. I experienced a lack of professionalism in communication by the agent assigned my project (a text with a message "Hru?" for "How are you?"!!, a lack of responding to questions in a timely fashion, promised return calls were never made). Ultimately, do the right thing for your project - which I did not, but will now do: research. Research for a company that is highly regarded and be prepared to pay for it. If it looks like a deal, you're going to be losing something - and if it is your project, you do NOT want that "something" to be a loss in the caliber of how it gets published. To be fair, the agency did fully refund my money for a lack of rendering services promised. I hope my experience helps you avoid disappointment and a potential disaster.
