Things ended up working (I still hope anyway), but what a hassle...especially when using Oyster on location they actually do not manage directly like UAE - but of course they don't say it beforehand, you end up stuck between their team and the actual partner team in charge, so - it takes ages for the simplest request (like off cycle payment), - you are promissed things that you do not get, like specific health benefits packages agreed before signing but their partner change without warning - joined only by mails, usually to only 1 of your people, and through a platform, so multiple interactions with various people changing all around, that you cannot even call to resolve quickly a matter, and you spend ages cc everyone from your team to understand what is going on.

Simply an information grab. Less than a week before our employee was due to start, I was told that they had made the business decision to not proceed with the hire because we had only one employee. Which they obviously knew when we engaged Oyster in the first place. We were left to scramble to onboard our hire through another EOR (which has thankfully been a wonderful experience). *Updated after Oyster's response: That is simply not correct. We are not using Oyster currently, because Oyster let us know just a few days before the employee in France was to onboard that they would not support us. The information you received from your internal sources is wrong, particularly given that I requested that Oyster delete all of the information that I provided.

A very irresponsible HR service. blames employee for their mistake. I had requested for 100% salary contribution to my pension was implemented wrongly. They deducted the tax and then did my pension contribution. and now they are just blaming me for not using salary sacrifice as a term. Really a nightmare experience. They constantly miss guiding me. Even now they are still on it. Which is resulting in financial loss to me. When asked appropriate questions they never answer your question. They are left open and never addressed. Always come back with a different reply together opening new threads. It's very difficult to have a conversation. I think they intend to frustrate you so that you will give up.

As an Oyster employee (originally Parakar) in France, I joined a company in Dec'21 and now attend to leave in Dec'23 I started in Dec'21 without a contract, despite my Manager agreeing to hire me 1 month 1/2 in advance... Now, with ticketing system where nobody replies on time and it takes several emails to re-re-reclarify a point or question, I can hardly leave my company to another job because Oyster refuses that my employer or me initiates a mutual agreement. Which is odd, stressful and puts my next job at stake. I write this comment as I see a lot of positive reviews, that looks like a rewarding system is in place somewhere to get to the best while service is clearly not there...

Very very poor.

Dealing with Oyster has been an incredibly frustrating experience. For several months, we have been grappling with a significant issue: Oyster owes us money, and despite numerous attempts to resolve this matter, we find ourselves caught in a seemingly endless loop of non-responsiveness and ambiguity. The support team at Oyster has consistently failed to provide straight answers. Our requests seem to be either ignored or inadequately addressed, leading to a lack of clear communication and resolution. This ongoing issue has not only caused financial strain but also a considerable amount of time and resource wastage in our attempts to follow up and seek clarity. Overall, our experience with Oyster has been unsatisfactory.

My employer switched from another HR/Payment processing company to Oyster after Oyster made all sorts of promises, guarantees, and other lies and/or misstatements. Unfortuantely, they failed right out of the gate and resulted in my first paycheck through Oyster being delayed by over a month. This would be enough to warrent one or fewer stars, but then it gets worse. Their "solution" was to have me awarded the missing paycheck as a "sign on" bonus for the first month that they actually did pay me. Unfortunately, they then messed up the pay rate, my national insurance, my start date, and more. This resulted in my first check being short anyway. To make matters worse, they reported my annual income to the HMRC as being almost 2x what I actually make. This resulted in me being erroneously taxed at a significantly rate than I should have been. I raised these issues with Oyster and my employer over and over again showing all the evidence and proof that they messed up, but they always insisted that they didn't, don't and couldn't make a mistake and that I must be misunderstanding things. They repeatedly refused to look at my evidence or check anything just repeating "look, if we use the incorrect tax ID that we got from HMRC after providing them incorrect info, it says we're right. sEe?" This headache, on top of charging my employer as much, if not more than our previous payment processor along with a lot of stress from Oyster resulted in my employer deciding it was easier to dismiss me rather than deal with this nightmare of a company. I would advise anyone with any sense or responsibility for their employees to avoid Oyster like the plague they are.
