The tour is a scam. Advertised as free, on the website it's written multiple times and accentuated that it's a free tour with only optional donations at the end. A guy (likely indian descent) with likely fake name told us some bullshit stories and a couple lame jokes. Basically, showed us to a nearby pub and asked us to pay or leave. Even though the tour is advertised as absolutely free everywhere on their website, multiple times in multiple places. They even stressed it as free during the phone call. When we arrived at the spot, i noticed a group of people, all of similar etnicities, likely indians, with fake smiles and enthusiasm. I suspect our group was the only tourist group there. It's a typical scam scheme.

This appeared to be a scam. So sorry we did not leave the tour, as we got suspicious right from the beginning. Only afterwards we found a lot of negative reviews about Mathew, completely recognisable. Paid way too much. Hardly any adequate and professional information, Matthew certainly wasn’t a former student and the silly jokes were not what we came for. Don’t book this!

I went on an official guided walk of Oxford and our guide, Alan was so knowledgeable. He explained so much of the history of the colleges which made it so much more interesting. It was well worth the two hours, in fact he went over his time and was happy to do so. I would certainly recommend this tour, so helpful in many ways.

Alan our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt so much about the city and the university. I also liked that he was always making sure everyone in our party was safe and part of the experience. I would definitely recommend this tour, even if you live in Oxford.
