I've bought 10 products from Overstock over a period of 5 years. The site often makes it appear that you are getting a great discount, but if you check for that item at other sites, it's often the same price. My concern is that I recently bought some bar stools (6 in total), one of them had a defective part that prevented the stool from being assembled. I asked Overstock for a replacement of the stool, and they said they would have to locate a replacement for the defective part, not replace the stool. The prices aren't that great, and if you run into a defective item like I did, you are subject to their discretion to make things right. Not so pleasant when there's a problem.

Twice I have bought jewelry from there; but I will not again. They hounded me both times until I purchased what I had been looking at. After both purchases the price of the items dropped drastically. The first item was an onyx and gold pendant which I do really like. The second time was an emerald ring you need a magnifying glass to see. The second order took weeks to get here. I have found since then that if you hard enough for no matter what it is your looking for you can probably find it cheaper somewhere else.

I will not be using overstock for anything period. They allow other furniture companies to use their site to sell furniture. I don't like that at all.

I would never recommend Overstock. I ordered a Christmas present from Overstock and looked at the return policy prior to ordering (returnable within 30 business days of ordering). Once I gave the gift, it ended up being a duplicate gift so I had to return it. I had never opened the box. I first tried to return via the website and it wasn't very intuitive, so I reached out to customer service. They told me the item couldn't be returned because of the category the item was in. They pointed me to the page of the product and in very, very small letters down in the description of the product, it says the item is non-returnable. I am fairly certain that the item was not listed this way when I ordered as I do almost all of my shopping online and am very careful with this sort of thing. Additionally, I checked out the website and other items in the same category are not listed as non-returnable/do not have that notice. On top of this, the item I ordered is now listed as out of stock and doesn't seem as if it will become available again. My assumption here is that Overstock wants to stop selling this item and doesn't want any additional stock, which is why they now list it as non-returnable. This was not an inexpensive item, so I wasn't happy to hear this. That said, I knew there was nothing that could be done, so I decided I would simply not use Overstock again and wanted to close my account. Again, the site was not intuitive so I asked the customer service rep how to do this and was told that I couldn't. I also could not remove my credit card or any personal info from the site. Customer service rep told me I could submit a request to delete my info and sent me a link, but the link also stated that you could not have your account data deleted if it's within 4 years of placing an order. I pointed this out to the customer service rep and they made it seem like I was confused/wrong about this. I proceeded with the deletion request and received an automated email from a noreply email address a week later stating my data could not be deleted until it's been 4 years since I've placed an order. Their customer service uses lots of canned responses and doesn't feel like you're talking to a human, might as well be speaking with a bot. It's a poor experience and it's not easy to get any help or real information. I personally would not order from Overstock again, but if you do, I would do so at your own risk and for an item you are sure you would never want to return. I would also stay away from anything expensive. They do seem to have decent pricing, but I would never risk working with a company like this to save a couple of bucks.

This is reference to a floor lamp: The first time I ordered, the shipping info was never updated and the item never came. A replacement was sent after some back and forth with customer service, but the box was very beat up when it arrived, and when I unpacked it, the top-most metal shade was bent into an oval (it should be round). I tried to bend it back - it looks a little better, but it is still not round and the shade has dimples from being crushed in transit. Now Overstock has me holding onto all the packaging and the damaged lamp so it can be "inspected" at my house by UPS sometime in the next 10 business days - one more step in this long, drawn out process. I'm hoping I'll get a replacement lamp in new condition eventually, as it looks like a great lamp. My money, $270, has been tied up for weeks. To add insult to injury, customer service keeps trying to get me to pay $19.95 for "Club O" whenever they email me about the lamp issues - pretty annoying when I've been having so much trouble getting what I ordered.

Two stars because I have purchased items from this company and they have a good selection and prices but do not, I repeat DO NOT ever buy anything you possibly might have to return that is large or heavy. I purchased a 5 x 5 round carpet and realized to late it was too large for my space. I never unpackaged it. They charged me more than half of the price of the carpet to return it. Why is Amazon so huge. I bought my next carpet from them and when I didn't care for it I returned it no charge. Just buyer beware. Unless you want to pay Overstock to take a look don't buy anything substantial.
