Outdoor VitalsWe create high performance ultralight backpacking gear without middlemen or retail markups. When you're headed into the intensity of nature, having high performing ultralight gear is inspiring. It helps you go farther while staying safe and comfortable. It empowers you to go where you haven't gone before.Outdoor Vitals was founded for this purpose. We tenaciously pursue the design of performance ultralight gear and sell it directly to you without the extra fees of investors, middlemen or retail markups so you can spend more time outdoors pushing, learning and growing.By changing from the traditional way of doing business & selling directly to you we cut 40-50% out of the price tag of products sold through retail stores. We then turn around and invest those savings into building a better product so you know when you head to the mountains you have gear with you that is uncompromising in quality and design. Gear that will keep you comfortable and never limit you.We take the harder path of business to better connect you to the Vital Outdoors.

I absolutely love the products produced by this company. There is so much research that really makes sense in their final products. I have two of their products for my big 4 and waiting on their release of the new trecking pole tent to complete my gear.

Just like everything I've purchased from OV, it's outstanding in every way, this is the second one of these jackets I have, it's so great and fits so well with all the features you need and want that I needed another color. I also have 2 Ventus hoodies which are fantastic and the Skyline 30 fastback that I like a lot.

The Shadowlight Carbon 60 Backpack is awesome. I didn't have time for an overnight trip before the "try it before you buy it" runs out, so I filled it up with my usual 5 day gear and a bear canister,(I live in the same county most of Yosemite Wilderness is in, Tuolumne), and took it out on a 12 mile dayhike. It felt like I had on a daypack. Only my 67 y.o. feet were feeling the miles. It's ride is so comfortable. Easy to use belt pulls. The front zipper makes it easy to get to the canister/food, since its not in the liner bag. I love the upper side pockets for easy access of an extra layer or rain coat in one and first aid plus water filter in the other. The lower pockets do hold two 1 l smart bottles on one side, the other side holds my chair and a plastic whiskey bottle. The large hip pockets work as advertised, finally some that work one handed. The total pack weight I usually carry is 25-35 lbs depending on the amout of food needed, up to 7 days. Two and a half lbs lighter now with this pack. Got the regular torso and the small hipbelt. I'm 5'6", 155 lbs. I'm going to keep it!

All the good communication was a great help with the new backpack, however after having back surgery July 22nd the pack was not right for me and I had to return. If I did not have such a scar the pack would have been the best.
