A one star rating is definitely too high for OnStar. I have been on the phone (car and cell) with 13 people over 3 days burning God only knows how much precious gas trying to get them to remove an aggravating message that appears on my car screen that says something like "OnStar is not available, contact an OnStar agent" or something like that. The last person I talked to told me to hang up and she would try to call me on the car phone (OnStar) and if she could not get through she would call me back on my cell. Never happened and I refuse to call them back a 4th time and speak to 3-5 more incompetent people to try to get fixed what I thought was an easy issue to resolve. No wonder OnStar is dying a slow death.

Onstar accidentally deleted my 3 year WiFi and maps service on my vehicle. I have put in over four verified cases through them and spoken with numerous agents. Supposedly a level three supervisor has been reviewing the case. It started on May 15th and as of June 2nd still remains unresolved. Even with the dealers involvement nothing has moved. Do not purchase of subscribe to anything from these thieves they will rob you blind and you will have no way to recover your money

Really bad customer service. I discovered in May 2026 that I've been billed each month since January 2026 for an OnStar program I do not recall signing up for in the first place. I did an online chat, got someone named "Venus," and she could only refund two months of payments and cancel the account. I'm a retiree on a fixed income, and said that while $175 is a lot of money to me, it is nothing to them, so please refund the entire amount. She refused and gave me a number for the Specialized Billing Department. I called that number and got a recording saying that they have too many calls coming in and can't speak with me. It then hung up! GM had better get a handle on this poor excuse for a partner company before it starts affecting their vehicle sales. For me, I'm done with GM forever -- all because of a $175 refund that's completely justified but they did everything they could to deny. It's really shamefull.

I have the account to unlock my truck in an emergency. I needed it yesterday and it sent a code to my email which was several miles away. I had to walk 5 miles to get another key. I've had a knee replacement and a broken hip that hasn't completely healed. I called them and wanted to get it switched to sending a text. I went through three agents and didn't get any help unless I was at my computer. I got on my email server and got the code, but when I go back to the app it says it's not valid. It does this about once a year. The last time they told me that it wouldn't happen again, but it did. Onstar has poor customer service.

Terrible. Don't do the trial because they will just quietly start charging your account even when you still have time on your 3 years free offer. My husband tried to cancel last night but the cancellation department was closed. I called today because my husband work schedule is not flexible and they said only my husband can cancel. It was super easy signing up but a pain in the butt canceling. Shady company. I'm not so sure I am so gung hoe to buy another Cadillac in the future.....

Their app isn't working as it should be. It has been used now for so many years and still they are not able to make it run at an acceptable level. They keep you paying every month and then when you need it, it doesn't work, and they don't care. Because if they would they would refund you, but they don't. Now after many years I tried it again on my new truck, weren't able to connect my truck to the app for a month, now that it is connected it is connected to Mexico, and I am in the US. When I contacted technical support on the OnStar Community website They asked me to submit certain information from my phone. I did so and the the reply was rejected right away, Then I complained and they labeled my reply as spam and got cut off!!!! This service from GM isn't worth the time nor your money!!!! Terrible customer and technical service!!! I would have added the screenshot, but it isn't possible to do so in this review.

Horrible service 😑 I was stranded 5 hrs on side of the road ,they said 1st tow truck was on the way but never showed,I called several times same smart mouth agent and then the second tow truck 2hr later with over 1,000$ bill and they will not refund any service after you complain for over 2 months and then they want respond to your email.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I was coming up on the end of free 3 year paid membership for Onstar after purchasing a GM car and was offered a promotional code to renew for a year. I took advantage of that code and have email confirmation of the price I approved to be charged to my car yet I was charged full price. When I called to inquire, I was made to look like the villain and it took multiple calls, long wait times and ultimately cancelation of the service to get this corrected. I find it ridiculous that a company is willing to lose a customer, rather than help them. This sent a clear message to me that GM and Onstar do not value or respect their customers and I will never be a customer again.
