My wife recently received a collection notice from Online Information Services claiming we owed $578.54 on an old Reliant Energy account from when we lived in Houston. After checking old credit card statements and calling Reliant Energy directly, we confirmed the account was paid in full 6 years ago. What caught my attention is that Online Information Services appears to be a licensed company in my home state of Tennessee. It may be a legitimate business, but scammers are using its name or information to target unsuspecting people. Be careful. Always verify collection notices directly with the original company and do your due diligence before paying anything.

This company has tried to get money from me by saying i did not pay a past duke bill, i called and spoke with a representative at duke, they informed me that i do not have a past due amount and my account with them is current (which i knew it was). I dont know how they attain this information but i do believe they are scammers!

A Duke Energy account was fraudulently opened using my name and personal data. The debt was sold to Online Information Services (Online) and reported to the credit bureaus. I sent Online the required documentation in support of my claim the debt was fraud. In follow up phone calls, the staff add on more demands for data and blame me for not completing my file. The bar keeps moving. It’s a game with them. Online has no intention of cooperating to help me repair the damage to my credit. The staff are shockingly rude and disrespectful. On the last phone call when i complained that each time I call, there are additional bits of information demanded by them, the representative started screaming at me. This is a company that is impossible to work with

This so called online collection service company is nothing more than a complete joke, they will put a false collection on your credit report with no paperwork and no notice, then try to get a payment from you, do not pay this scab company a cent, report and fight the collection on any credit report, this company should be closed down as a fraud.

This is literally the worst company in the world with the worst, uneducated, rude and unprofessional employees with zero manners. They don't even know the laws and they don't care for consumer laws either. You pay the collections amount, they promise to take it down and they never do. I am not sure why they're still in business when so many people sued them. This company should be shut down and no company should work with these crooks for their collection business.

This is a crooked company to work for and places a facade to people about their experience you will have their and yes over the yrs of being there I learned alot of things I can take to my next journey which I am so grateful for. Micheal MC Ceney who is the collections mgr is the worst like the consumers said he is not only rude to the customers he is rude to his employees. Mike McCeney is unprofessional as well. Loud work environment because of the music playing in the business on top of payments being yelled out all day of every penny made within. (Child work environment) The budgets are often unobtainable and if you work collections you are penalized for everything you do with permission has to be given to use PTO according to their policy because of it being a production based company they like to tell you. Veeeeeeery stressful and unprofessional work environment and the management is the worst ! They need to throw the whole mgt team away. and I wouldn't recommend my dog or cat to work there. The collectors stay stressed and at each other because of the stress in this company. I can say much more but to sum it all up that' my opinion. I can say I gave never worked for a business such as this that had managers as bad as these are!
