I have been at Online bookclub.org for around 4 months. It is an amazing platform as you get to pick from a range of books of your own choice which is a fantastic thing as you also pick the genre of the book you love. It is also quite amazing that after writing your first review you are paid for the reviews that follow consecutively. Even though the amount paid is not a lot, it is not something that is accessible in other platforms or rather I have not yet seen any other platform. As an overall conclusion it's a one in a million.

Amazing book club!

I've written over 100 reviews for OBC in the last 3-4 years. I've never had any problem with the site. Stick to the rules, write decent reviews that follow the site's guidelines and work your way up the levels. You'll get paid for your work.

After a lot of give and take, I'm not ambivalent about this organization. The first book reviewed (using a different email) was decent, and it was clear the reader had read my book. They sent me a copy of the review - no Cliff Notes. The second review, Instead of a book review, like my first, I received a synopsis of my book, like Cliff Notes. Huh? Anyway, discovered it was preemptive (?) of the actual review. Learned something. Fine, now that's settled, let’s move on. Pleased with the actual review, when it showed up, and learned I need to do more thorough editing. No big surprise, but still received three out of four stars Nevertheless, it's a matter of learning how things operate and I have done so. Also improved my writing! :) Their website appearance, since my comments has undergone some changes. Very nice pick-me-up to navigate easier. Anyway, I did try again with another book, and learned I need to use ProWrite Aid, which I paid for, to edit my books and quit forgetting! (Bang head on desk) Bottom line, I am impressed with Scott who has gone to extreme measures to gain a positive review. Then again, that’s why I keep writing and editing, editing and editing!

I am very disheartened by their deceitful tactics. They tricked me into unpaid labor. Do not click the links they email you, they will not honor the pay as stated and will blatantly tell you so after publishing your review for their own use. I received multiple emails from Scott to write my first review for pay. This was the offer. I decided to click the link, got the book, reviewed, and weeks later it was accepted and published. When asking for my due pay i got the run around and was told i would be paid for the next review i write, not this one. This was never stated before and I wrote for pay not the promise of future work. Finally Scott himself also writes back that if i claimed the book did it say it was paid as i did it? I clicked on a link that you sent stating paid review for this particular book within the time frame. This is just a tactic to get free labor. They managed to get one of their books reviewed, failed to pay the reviewer then invite me for extra work. Buyer beware, a complete scam that will waste your time and energy. I do not recommend this site to any serious review writers expecting to be paid for their work.

Well, I have been reading and writing review for OBC for a long time. I gave them so many chances, but I decided that it is time to quit because I have some respect for myself. It is more important to have zero mistakes in the review than to actually write a good review. Everything is generic for them, no matter how good and original your review is. If you are part of The First Ten program, and if you have written 28 reviews for example, be ready to receive about 18 e-mails with the title that goes a bit like this: First Ten Submission Refused. Okay, you go over that and decide to go on. You reach 28 reviews AGAIN, and you receive another 15 emails that your submissions have been refused in a span of 20 minutes. It would be okay if your submission gets refused the same day or the next day, but getting 15 submissions refused 2 days before the payout is a bit lame and discouraging. I just have a feeling that they are ready to take your work, but give you a bare minimum for it. I do not recommend this site to anyone as their service is really messed up. I could state more cons for this site, but I will stop here. To be honest, I really liked OBC before, and I actually gave it a chance, but I don't think this is a propriate way to treat someone who is doing a pretty good job for you.
