I signed up for online book club in late February 2023. I selected a to purchase the book out of pocket, I finished the book, completed my review, and submitted within two weeks time. My review was accepted but never posted. Probably because I gave the book a 2 of 5 and that hurt the author's feelings. It took them 5 MONTHS to complete the whole process and that's on top of me having to reach out to them 3 separate times over months to get someone to resolve the issue of why I hadn't been paid and the review not being closed out. That's ridiculous! The website looks like it's from the 1994, is extremely hard to navigate and definitely not accessible for today's standards. TLDR: Slow customer service, book selection isn't great or diverse. Not worth the time. I will not be working them anymore and I suggest you don't either.

Online Book Review is really worth joining. Not only do you get to read great books but you can review them and get paid for it as well. I just received my first payment for my first review and I am very pleased!

Some of the directions are cumbersome. It also took way too long to receive compensation.

Onlinebookclub.org is certainly an interesting site and organization and one to keep an eye on. Great opportunities to be a reviewer and lend your opinions to existing and new authors. Some great content in there, and get paid to review!

I was given the opportunity to review a book in December 2022. I followed all guidelines for the review and submitted timely. I had 3 reviewers give drastically different grades. I was actually "failed" over a comma misplacement. I brought this to their attention and as of today June 30th, 2023, I have finally received payment for my review. Not. Worth. It.

Online Book Club offers the opportunity for readers to learn about new authors. It is also a great website offering services to Authors, including book reviews and promotional activities. I've used their services since 2017.

I have experienced big problems in having my book reviewed. Some ratings have suffered a subtraction of a star because of alleged formatting errors. Those errors are not in the book, only in the epub manuscript that reviewers have see. I have pointed this out many times and have uploaded a pdf version of the book. The pdf version is a true copy of the book and does not have the "errors" that the reviewers have complained about.

I was skeptical of this site being legitimate, paying people to review books. And it did take more than a month to get paid, when they estimated it would only take three weeks or less. There was a lot of red tape and confusion. I had to be very persistent to communicate and clear things up. They said they have to screen out a lot of scammers. But we talked everything out eventually. And they paid exactly what was agreed upon for the first paid job. My review was of a book by the site's founder, and I was not kissing up. I gave a review that included a lot of honest criticism. And that's how I found out they were an honest company. It was worth the work, including working through the communication difficulties early on. I hope to keep working for them in the long-term.
