Options offered to authors are varied and very useful for almost all budgets. The service is unique and has certainly helped me a lot as an author. In addition, owner Scott is very active and extremely eager to listen and help. The outfit is of great support.

Hi, Jean,
It seems like you may have accidentally rated us 4/5 instead of 5/5.
However, if there is anything I can change about OnlineBookClub.org to make OnlineBookClub even better, please do let me know, and I will get it done.
Thank you,
Scott

I have enjoyed being a member of OnlineBookClub.org and a review team member.
For a new member like me, it is difficult to tell whether I have successfully posted my Book of the Day reviews of the official reviews in the various social media that I have become a member for this purpose. It would help if there are instructions on how to successfully post reviews on social media.
Thank you.

Author Beware!
Scott Hughes, the owner of the company, refuses to abide by his refund policy, clearly stated on his website. He adds to it as he wishes so that he doesn't have to refund money to dissatisfied customers. He has refused my request for a refund because I had the audacity to write negative reviews about his company. Nowhere in the refund policy does it state that as a condition of a refund. He has ignored my request through the Better Business Bureau as well. Authors - actual customers of this website - stay far, far away!
Now, he has replied with utter nonsense. An author decides to have a review published publicly when the review is ordered, not after. The reviewers he uses are not professional book reviewers as he promised. (Authors have no way of knowing that until the book review is put on his site.) They're just random folks around the world who want to make extra money. None of his "freebies" are legitimate, since he can't offer what he promises - a professional book review. I will quote here from his email he sent right before I ordered - "To say all of our services come with a satisfaction guarantee is an understatement. If after using our services you are "just satisfied", then that is NOT good enough. I work so hard to make OnlineBookClub.org the best it can be. I work 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I am not satisfied if you are only satisfied. I won't stop until you are MORE than satisfied."
You can't satisfy me, Scott, because you didn't deliver what I ordered - a professional book review. FYI - there is a difference between a professional book review and just an ordinary reader's book review. You gave me that, but it isn't what I ordered.
One of the free services he offered was a "5 star review" for my book on Amazon. That goes against Amazon policy - a guaranteed 5 star review would be a fake review. If I accepted it, I would be in danger of my book being kicked off Amazon.
He offered me half a refund, then said he wouldn't give me the rest until I deleted any negative reviews I had posted online. Does that sound legitimate to you? Does that sound like a company that doesn't give refunds?
And now, Scott has gone to the bottom of the barrel. I never at any time asked you to put a 5 star review on Amazon. The person who reviewed my book for your site gave it a 5 star review on your site. And, since I could not use her review as an editorial review as she is not a professional book reviewer, I asked for a regular reader's review. I did not ask that the review be by her or that it be a 5 star review. That was your choice to ask her to do it. She bought an ebook version of my book in the UK and then put up a review. Please, feel free to contact Amazon and I will be happy to send them a copy of all your emails, as well as the fact you are selling "editorial reviews" that are not editorial reviews. And, if you want to admit to Amazon that you are allowing your employees to put up fake reviews on their site, that's your business.

Hi, Laura,
You mixed up our "satisfaction guarantee" with our "refund policy". You are not entitled to a refund.
You already chose to have the review published publicly at OnlineBookClub, and then after (i.e. after the service you paid for was already delivered) then you also asked the reviewer to also as an extra courtesy leave an Amazon review at no extra charge, which the reviewer did as an extra favor to you AFTER the service you ordered and paid for was already delivered.
In other words, you already had indicated you were happy with the reviewer's work, by not only choosing to have the review published publicly on our website but then asking the reviewer to post on a third-party website (Amazon) at no extra charge, which the reviewer did as a favor to you.
I have more than honored our satisfaction guarantee by repeatedly giving you and offering you many different free services.
You asked us to put the 5/5 star review on Amazon. You asked us, and we did it. If that's a violation of Amazon's polices, then you are the one who violated those policies by going out of your way to ask us to go out of our way to put the 5/5 review on Amazon. We don't sell Amazon reviews; we sell OnlineBookClub reviews. You are the one who then asked us to also put the 5/5 rating/review on Amazon too, which we did at your request as a free extra favor to you--precisely because I am so dedicated to going above and beyond to more than satisfy.
I am happy to directly contact Amazon about this myself in relation to your book and the review you had us put on Amazon for you to get their feedback about it.
Thank you,
Scott

I have only just started working with the club and despite a few minor issues, probably of my own making, the responses from the team have been great and very helpful. So I have no hesitation in putting a 5 star rating.
