Update: Since mobile deposit on the 9th, they have reversed the fee for the incoming $1.82 from a closed bank. But still no access to my paycheck which the job reported was cashed days ago. Meanwhile my family and I are without food and believe it or not we're eating rice from my begging for money on the street. Sad, I liked the bank until they claimed to be a good bank and yet holding my funds to whenever they decide I can have it. Pray for my family I'm so scared they are going to hold my direct deposit in two days as well and we will be evicted after that. Also I had to miss days no money for gas and bills have been accessed late fees because the bank holding the funds. What started out as a bank that I bragged about having and being a minority bank and operated as such now become horrible immediately after giving the bank raving reviews and telling everyone to get an account there. My issue is that I mobile deposited a check into my account and was told it would clear in four days, then messages came that it would clear in 9 days then another final message came that it would clear in 23 days. It was my paycheck drawn on a Chase account and when I called customer service, they were rude even as I was polite and explained that it was a new account and there is nothing that could be done. I begged and pleaded that it was my paycheck and I have a family that depends on me as such I was not able to buy food, pay rent, or car note as such I am out begging for food while you guys make a profit off the funds you’re holding. I then received a wire transfer of $1.82 from a bank that I used for years and was closing in 6 days what did the bank that is supposed to have my back do, they charged me $20.00 for receiving the $1.82 so the bank has put me in dire straits and my family all because I chose them to bank with and I called customer service to see if they could waive the $20.00 fee and she rudely stated, "no not going to happen we don’t do that here in a rude tone then stated have a great day". What planet is this I am struggling, and they are doing everything possible to ensure that I am without a car, a place, and a job and can't provide for my family because the bank is taking everything from me and holding over $800.00 from pay drawn on a national bank? Now the landlord is stating I will get a notice for past due rent they are strict even if you are late two days but, in this case, a whole month because my bank won't release and say it's nothing they can. I am begging people for food for the family as I don't care about me but there is money just not mine until the bank says I can have MY money whenever that will be.

Horrible bank! Do not be fooled by their slogan of "The Largest Black-Owned bank in America". This bank treats their customers worse than white-owned banks. It is a shame that a bank owned by black people choses to treat their customers the way police officers treat blacks in America; like criminals. If you're desperate, go for it. But if you have other options, stay away. This bank is absolute garbage. A simple check takes 4 days to cash and be available in an account. I know banks that take seconds to cash a check. They lie to you about having 2-day early direct deposit. They show the money in the account however, you cannot access it until your normal pay day. What is the purpose of advertising that if you are going to release the money the day we are supposed to get paid? Stick with cash app. It's way better. In addition to this, the company has ZERO respect or sense of urgency for the customers. I was lied to yet again! They said they would void a check that I attempted to cash. I canceled the check cashing because I was told that it will take up to 9 days just to clear it! Ingo cashes checks instantly. Long story short, the company still has my check on hold and it seems like they are okay with stealing from people. Funny a black owned company like this is embarrassing itself by fitting the stereotype exactly; financially inept, late, and willing to steal from good hardworking people. Shame. It doesn’t matter what race you are. Just treat customers finances with respect. This company is unable to do so.

THE WORST BANK EVER TO EXIST!! I will gladly take my money back to a non-black owned bank once my issue is fully resolved. I absolutely HATE this bank and will be reporting them to every agency possible. I deposited a check 5/30 before 4pm CST. I check my bank statement and it shows a 4 day hold on the check which is standard for the amount that the check is. I get an email on 5/31 saying now that my funds will not be available until 6/8. I called to find out why the funds have been delayed and I am notified it is because the account has been overdrawn, however the check deposited more than covers the overdraft amount, several times over. This has to be the most manipulative tactic I have ever seen, hold my funds hoping I spend money anyway (the card does not automatically decline when you don't have funds, you have to request that feature) so you can continue to charge me fees and take from the pending deposit until I have nothing in the account. I have expenses that depended on that check being deposited timely. Its unfortunate that this bank preys and takes advantage more than someone that does not look like me ever has. Every employee I speak with on any given day is indifferent and is present solely for a check. This is not the first time this bank has left me high and dry. Three months prior to this issue I lost my card. I called the bank to issue a new one and for some reason the representative cut off both mine and my partner's card and reissued both at the same time. We literally had no way to access our money for 10 days! Save yourself the headache. This bank is predatory!!!

Getting ripped off by Caucasian- owned banks is somehow less insulting and sadly a more comfortable experience. I had a duplicate transaction happen from an outside bank, through no fault of my own, but was not allowed access to my account statement "because my account was overdrawn". Not only did they refuse to email me a statement but I was blocked from online banking as well. They allowed bank fees for multiple retried payments that I had no idea had even been returned. "Customer service" advises you to use self help options, namely the terribly worthless app that is down more than functional. Even the website was "down" during the time I needed access to my account the most. Also I read that this institution is owned by celebrities so the rip-off tactics make more sense. Worst "bank" I have ever used. The only thing united about it is the effort to hit you with those outrageous $37 fees while keeping you in the dark about the status of your account.

Work on the app more or something . It shouldn’t be so hard to file a dispute and it shouldn’t take weeks for a provisional credit . Also when the card is locked , no transactions should be able to go through and this has happened countless times

I called to ask a question about a check deposit and the lady said go to an atm! She basically didn't understand my question and rushed me off the phone. I called again to get some clarification, and someone answered the phone and hung up in my face.

I can't pay my bill on time because of the system please and dealing with a third party to pay is not working for me the young lady help me how to get with my bank and set up an easier way to pay my monthly bill

Please do not do business with this bank, they advertise themselves as a large Black Bank online I sent $50 in to start an account and they took my money, $10 per month. I didn't get a bank statement. I wasn't notified that I was being charged $10 a month, by the time I reached out to their company they had taken all my money and had me owing them money. I was trying to support them, they ripped me off and I'm sure they've ripped a lot of people off. The customer service rep said they would get back in touch with me about refunding my money, they never did. They just closed my account, took my $50 and rode off into the sunset.
