Stacy Santmyer gets five stars, but it took some doing to get him on my case.
The sales process was pretty deceptive. It was an aggressive sale where they promise the moon, and sure enough, after Michael Luby was halfway through doing what was promised, was asking for more money. Fortunately, I had emails documenting your commitment to do a specific amount of work for a set price, and after going up the ladder was placed with Stacy instead of Lubes. He was responsive, good to work with, and got the job done. I'm sure this is no secret, but when a tax lien becomes public, Omni and a hundred other tax attorneys start calling, non-stop. The other guys all say "Are you talking to Omni? They're going to hose you–use me instead". So I was disappointed, but not surprised, when you actually did try to give me a stiffy, because I covered that before signing anything. As a marketing consultant, I imagine it's pretty good business to keep asking for money, and back down when a client puts up a decent fight (which is probably rare). I wouldn't advise you to change this, unless it's karma you're worried about and not money. It probably doubles your revenue, and most of us don't run businesses to make friends. I wouldn't refer a friend to Omni, but I might consider investing in Omni. I doubt referrals are a big source of business, anyway. Your direct sales process probably works very well.
