Late in the spring of 2014, my husband received notice that we owed the IRS $34,869.64 in back taxes and fines. The tax was "owed" from my husband's business filing in 2003. Our masonry company had just lost $1,000,000 on a construction job through no fault of ours. Obviously one cannot climb out of the abyss without some helping hands.
