My doctor said that Nutreance Calciven is a very reasonable formula; I can take two a day: one at lunch and one at dinner time. Taking it with a meal is best. I also should not take this supplement less than 4 hours from my thyroid prescription Levothyroxine, as the calcium would prevent the thyroid medication to be effective. He also mentioned that Thyrogard is not suitable for me because it might raise my thyroid hormones into a 'hyperthyroid condition' which would be very bad. I was reminded that before ordering supplements (especially expensive) I should have them checked with my physician or a pharmacist against all other medications I'm taking and my personal diagnosis. Only take supplements that serve a purpose and do not present a danger from interactions with other meds.& supplements. Any pharmacist can advise but doctors know health conditions of patient.
