Not the “Special Odds” I Was Expecting
I subscribed to NerdyTips expecting some “special odds”, meaning well-analyzed matches with value that isn’t obvious at first glance. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. In one of their match analyses, they even mentioned a player who had already been sold by Rio Ave for several days and wasn’t included in the squad anymore — their top scorer, no less. That seriously made me question the depth and accuracy of their analysis. Overall, the odds they offer are quite modest. Most of the time, they simply select heavy favorites with odds around 1.20–1.35 and combine them with basic goal markets at around 1.30 to reach a total odds of 3–4 for the daily ticket. For example, today (03.01.2026), the “bet of the day” included 5 events with a total odds of 3.9, and only 3 of them were correct. My expectation was to get matches that I, as a beginner bettor, wouldn’t immediately spot. Picking random favorites at 1.25 that are “in good form” is something I could easily do myself without paying for a subscription. That’s why this was clearly disappointing. To be fair, their daily selections do have a hit rate of around 70%, but the winning odds are usually only 1.20–1.30. What can you really do with odds like that? If you try to combine them or play systems, you need to invest a lot of money just to have a chance of making a small profit over your initial stake. Overall, the value simply isn’t there for me, and the service didn’t meet my expectations. Later edit: in response I would like to say that “special odds” don’t imply for me maybe 2/1 at 28 odds “fixed match” I’m looking for a 1.30-1.6 but which cannot be seen when just looking at Flashscore and making it myself. You are selling a product that delivers mostly to experienced bettors who have the bank and the skills to use your odds, but these bettors mostly can do this themselves, don’t take it as hate, please take it as a constructive criticism.
Response from NerdyTipsJan 4, 2026
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We believe it’s important to respond with clarity and facts, especially when some statements are inaccurate or lack proper context. First, regarding the player mentioned in the Rio Ave analysis: Our match analyses are generated up to 4 days in advance, based on the best and most complete data available at the time of analysis. During active transfer windows, especially in January, last-minute transfers or squad changes can occur after the analysis is completed. This can occasionally lead to discrepancies between the squad status at analysis time and match day. This is a known and unavoidable reality in football data analysis, not a lack of depth or accuracy. Second, the claim that our selections are mostly “heavy favorites at 1.20–1.35” is factually incorrect. Let’s look at real, verifiable numbers: - In December 2025, we published 132 Bet of the Day (Banker) matches - The average odds for these matches were 1.4071 - The hit rate was 78% These figures alone clearly contradict the idea that our daily selections sit at 1.20–1.30 or lack value. Moreover, when looking at all events analyzed and published in December 2025, not just the Bankers: - The overall average odds were 1.47, which is far from the 1.20–1.35 range mentioned in your review These statistics are based on actual historical data, not marketing claims. Regarding the expectation of “special odds” or hidden long-shot picks: NerdyTips is not designed to promote risky or speculative selections. Our focus is on data-driven probability, not on chasing inflated odds for the sake of appearance. High odds do not automatically equal value — and experienced bettors understand that consistent profitability is built on probability, not excitement. Finally, while you acknowledge a hit rate of around 70%, you question what can be done with such odds. This ultimately comes down to strategy and bankroll management, which varies from user to user. Our role is to provide statistically sound selections; how they are used is a personal choice. That said, we fully accept that our approach may not match everyone’s expectations — especially for users looking for high-risk, high-odds picks. But misrepresenting the data does not change the underlying facts. We appreciate your feedback, but we also believe it’s important for potential users to see accurate information, supported by real numbers. Best regards, NerdyTips Team
