I would not recommend Nationwide…
I would not recommend Nationwide Advance based on my experience with their funding process. I provided four months of business bank statements and made it clear that I was not interested in a personally guaranteed product. I was then told that I had an “approval pending” my Social Security number. When I asked what the approval was for, I was not given an amount, term, payment structure, or clear product type. I was also told they do not perform a hard or soft credit pull, but instead perform “credit verification,” yet I was not given a clear explanation of what that meant or what provider/database would be used. When I asked for basic transparency before providing my Social Security number, the response was essentially that this was their process and that they could delete my file if I was unwilling to provide it. My issue is simple: if you tell a business owner they have an “approval,” there should be something meaningful to disclose about what has supposedly been approved. I was not asking for final underwriting terms. I was asking for enough information to understand what type of financing I was being asked to move forward with before handing over highly sensitive personal information. Maybe this process works for others, but it was not acceptable to me. If you value transparency before providing your SSN, proceed carefully and ask detailed questions.
