I thought the laundry detergent strips would make a wonderful stocking stuffer until I read that they are made in China. So much attention to detail and generating a wonderful "feel" and then made in China.
I admire your mission......not the sourcing.

Thank you for your review - I understand your disappointment about our laundry strips being made in China.
China is a huge polluter - the world's biggest emitter of carbon dioxide, producing a sobering 12.7 billion metric tons of emissions annually. That dwarfs U.S. emissions, which are currently about 5.9 billion tons annually. Moreover, China has a deeply troubling record with regard to human rights abuse. And yet, Nantucket Spider has chosen to have our Nantucket Footprint line of laundry strips made in China - so the question is - why?
First, a little background:
Nantucket Spider is a mission-driven company. Because of our mission and our verified social and environmental performance record, we have recently been granted B Corporation Certification, which is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of performance, accountability, and transparency on factors including charitable giving, environmental impact, supply chain practices, and input materials. We believe that ethical and environmentally sustainable businesses are not only possible but are necessary for our planet's future. And this knowledge informs our company's actions in everything we do. So, choosing where we make our products is carefully thought out. Our commitment to ethical and environmentally sustainable business includes making products locally whenever possible, making sure the products are made with fair labor, using the cleanest and least toxic ingredients available, being transparent with our ingredients, and donating profits to preserve and protect our one beautiful and precious planet. With over 1.2 billion plastic cleaning containers discarded in the U.S. each year, a few years back, Nantucket Spider put its best thinking into making highly effective cleaning strips that are safer, biodegradable, kept in compostable (non-plastic) child-resistant packaging and leave a much smaller footprint. We aptly named this line "Nantucket Footprint." Because our cleaning strips have no water, they don't need toxic preservatives, they don't need to be carried in heavy plastic containers, and the environmental energy spent transporting them is vastly reduced.
So why are our strips made in China?
When Nantucket Spider set out to create our new line of products, we wanted to obtain everything locally or at least from North America. We quickly learned that in our global economy, this is not possible: the technology for the cleaning strips is Chinese, and the infrastructure to make the strips does not yet exist in the U.S. Even if there were a U.S. manufacturer, the raw materials for most cleaning products sold in the U.S. and the base materials are all created in China with no alternative North American source. Our ecological footprint is significantly smaller when we import the light cleaning strips from China than if we import barrels of raw materials and produce them in the USA.
So, how are we navigating this? We have direct relationships with each person we work with in China. Most are smaller-scale companies. None is located in the western regions or Xinjiang province (which have been most closely associated with human rights violations). We work closely with their engineers to do our custom formulations, which we develop from ingredients recognized as safest in their category. All this being said, we continue to have it on our radar to source and manufacture our cleaning products closer to home as soon as the infrastructure and materials become available.

Not effective
Shipping was straightforward. Items were packaged nicely to prevent any items from being damaged. The incense holder is sturdy and it has a nice aesthic to it. Have not used the bug spray yet but as for the incense sticks themselves they do not work in regards to limiting flies or mosquitoes. I use the sticks on my patio and flies continue to hover as if I'm not using anything. The irony is that I found a mosquito chilling on the patio door unaffected. Maybe it is the smell or the product is ineffective.

Great product, not so great packaging.
I love these products, they really work and smell amazing. However, the pumps on the larger sizes are difficult to use when you're trying to spray hard to reach places, and sometimes don't work at all. My last shipment had to be refunded because the 8oz bottle leaked inside the package, totally destroying the incense sticks. Shipping that bottle with a screwtop is a recipe for disaster. Not all is lost, I placed the soaked canister (which interestingly unravels like a can of popup biscuits) under my chicken coop to repel rats.

The shipping took longer then expected…
The shipping took longer then expected and there was damage to the product, making it leak. However the product itself was good when I tested what was left in the bottle.

I absolutely love the product, however!
I absolutely love the product! But the shipment end of it was terrible! The liquid leaked all through the box causing product loss! The top of the bottles should have a better seal. The bottles should be wrapped in bubble wrap and better packaging so this does not happen.

Nantucket Spider Sprayer
Nantucket Spider,
So far so good as far as repellent but it is the end of fall in Upstate NY & temps at night are in the mid 20°'s & daytime about 35°- 40°'s. I did have a flea issue around the end of August. I use to use Wondercide spray but I had to purchase (4) 32 oz bottles & didn't seem to work like it ise to. I even purchased their new flea collars
Collars are new & may have helped repel but not kill the fleas. So after 3 weeks I threw them away. (Probably should've kept them on?!) So a friend told me about Nantucket Spider repellent. I like that it mists & not a hard spray. BUT the sprayer is NOT working correctly. I have to lift up on the sprayer to make it work & it leaks also. Both my dogs are patient but to a certain extent lol I wish the repellent also killed those nasty fleas too! The best way is the old fashioned way! Hot soapy water & a flea comb! It truly is exhausting! I still am checking them twice a day.
I'm 65 yrs old & washing bedding, vacuuming, spraying furniture, on & on . I'm not a novice dealing with the flea issue but I was a lot younger & had more strength & stamina. I will be spraying my yard just before spring so this doesn't happen again. I hope it NEVER happens again! Although it's never a guarantee! I'm being hopeful. I still will be using Nantucket Spider on my dogs frequently. If you can give me a few tips I'd greatly appreciate it! Always learning
no matter what age you are. So I was wondering if you would please send me a new sprayer (free of charge, possibly?) since obviously the one I purchased is defective. I also purchased the spray for humans. I use it on my clothes especially when I'm checking my dogs daily. The true test will be next spring, summer & fall.
