Unprofessional, unresponsive and incompetent
I paid My Visa Source $4,000 to assist me with a spousal visa. I am writing to you at the conclusion of this process to say that this "law firm" will sabotage your application with incompetence and indifference, and even my lawyer — one of four that I've had over the past 2.5 years — said so as well. I started with a consultation that went well. I was assigned to a lawyer named Monica. She affirmed that she had all the documents she needed from me, and I never heard from her again. When I called, I got another lawyer instead, named Pavel. He was my lawyer now. No one told me, and he was unresponsive. (Bizarrely, Monica is still listed on the My Visa Source website even though she hasn't worked there for two-plus years.) I thought I had paid for a lawyer, but really I mostly worked with a case manager, who asked me that same questions that were on the I-130 application and then copy/pasted my answers incorrectly into a PDF. I received many documents with unfathomable errors: my name misspelled and my address listed in a state where I've never even visited, among other problems. When I had a question for the lawyer, it would go unanswered for weeks at a time. This stretched on for months — literally months. I have saved every piece of correspondence and every failed "draft" of our application. Afterward, Pavel called me on his personal cellphone to apologize. I have contemporaneous notes on this. I have his number in my call log. He told me that My Visa Source rips people off charging them for "expedited" filings that were guaranteed to be rejected. He said that he had 380 clients, with 9 onboarded every week. Is this true? Was he covering up for his own incompetence? I don't know. Conceivably both questions can be answered with yes. (Pavel no longer works with My Visa Source.) I wrote a negative Google review at the time that Pavel encouraged me to leave up. Natasha, then the Head of Legal at My Visa Source at the time, encouraged me to take it down. She said she'd assign me to a senior lawyer instead. Because my ultimate goal was to keep my case on track and get the visa, not pick fights, I agreed. (Natasha no longer works with My Visa Source.) My new lawyer, my third, was named Raquel. I didn't talk to her much because I was waiting for USCIS to approve my wife's I-130. When that happened, we talked a bit. I don't have many complaints about her, although, as before, she said she'd do something for me — transfer my wife's case to another embassy — and never did, but I eventually did it myself, and it was easy. (Raquel no longer works with My Visa Source.) Now when I said "sabotage your application," I mean it. My wife was from a country that President Trump subsequently added to his travel ban. And then Trump removed the exemption for spousal visas entirely — that went into effect on January 1, 2026, and my wife's interview at the embassy finally occurred on January 6, 2026. Let me remind you that My Visa Source wasted LITERALLY MONTHS just on filing the I-130 and did so incompetently. Yet, miraculously, there was a path forward for my wife to get the visa. And Ken, my fourth lawyer at My Visa Source, nor anyone else at the first, never said a word to me about it. No one asked me any questions about whether my wife could explore another exemption to the travel ban. My wife and I had to figure all that out ourselves. My Visa Source delayed our case to the point where we were facing absolute despair about never living with together for at least another three years, and to dig us out of the mess, we were on our own. My wife got the visa in spite of My Visa Source, not because of My Visa Source, and they charged me $4,000 for the "effort." Do not give this firm a cent.
