⭐ MY 5TH VACAYA TRIP
⭐ MY 5TH VACAYA TRIP — AND DEFINITELY MY LAST This was my fifth trip with VACAYA, and unfortunately it will be my last. Throughout the cruise, VACAYA staff had very little interaction with guests. At times, it felt as though some of the team were on vacation themselves. Many would pass passengers without even saying good morning — very disappointing for a company that promotes community and hospitality. The food was often cold and mass-produced, and I had concerns about the freshness of some buffet items. On one occasion, the salmon looked and smelled as though it might no longer be fresh. We also paid approximately $2.200 for an unlimited beverage package, yet not even bottled water was included in our cabin to take medication. We had to go to a bar every time we wanted water. The worst experience, however, involved my 70-year-old husband, who has difficulty hearing. He was listening to an audio message at a higher volume when two passengers confronted us. The situation escalated and they accused him of threatening to “throw a bomb on the ship.” We categorically denied this accusation — he made no such threat. Ship security became involved, and we felt threatened and intimidated rather than supported. Even more disappointing, a VACAYA staff member was present and told us that VACAYA had “nothing to do with it.” I understand that ship security is operated by Celebrity Cruises, but we were VACAYA customers on a VACAYA-organized vacation. At such a serious moment, I expected VACAYA to at least support its guests. After five trips, there will not be a sixth. As someone living in Europe, I will also share my experience with other travelers here so they can make an informed decision before booking. I cannot recommend VACAYA after this experience.
