The AI Illusion: When "Automated Marketing" Becomes a Support Black Hole (A Warning on MyMarky.ai)
When building out automated marketing systems, the goal is always to streamline the pipeline, not babysit a broken platform. MyMarky.ai started out with a strong promise—especially coming off an AppSumo deal—but the reality of their platform has devolved into a cautionary tale of what happens when a tech company fully abandons human customer service. If you are considering integrating this tool into your digital marketing workflow, you need to look past the 5-star hype and dig into the 1-star realities. Here is exactly what happens when the wheels fall off. The Hi-Res Image Massacre and The AI Support Loop The most infuriating part of a digital workflow breaking down is when it actively damages the assets you put into it. After investing in expensive, high-resolution imagery to maintain a premium brand standard across social channels, MyMarky decided to indiscriminately compress those assets into pixelated, tiny thumbnails. It made every social post look like absolute garbage. Naturally, you reach out to support when a core feature fails this spectacularly. That is where you meet the MyMarky AI support bot. After half a dozen desperate requests for help, the result was a maddening loop of automated promises. The bot endlessly assures you that "someone will be in touch." Spoiler alert: No one is ever in touch. Zero human intervention. Nada. No response. The app was abandoned because a tool is entirely useless if the developers refuse to support the people using it. It’s Not Just Me: The "Internal Server Error" Trap If you think my experience was an isolated glitch, let's look at the other 1-star review currently sitting on their Trustpilot page. Another user, Jason, outlines a scenario that is arguably even worse. The 24-Hour Lockout: After paying a $40 subscription fee, Jason was able to generate exactly two Facebook posts before being hit with a permanent "Internal Server Error." The Hostage Situation: Locked out of the account completely just one day after signing up, Jason was left unable to access the tool while MyMarky held onto his active credit card and sensitive data. The Silent Treatment: Despite demanding a refund and the removal of personal data, Jason was met with the exact same wall of silence. No resolution, no communication. (Marky did eventually reply publicly on Trustpilot, but only after the damage was done and the review was posted). The Verdict A social media automation tool is supposed to save you time. Instead, MyMarky.ai swallows your high-quality assets, regurgitates unusable thumbnails, takes your money, and then hides behind an unresponsive AI chatbot when things inevitably break. If a software company is perfectly happy to automate their customer service to the point of total abandonment, you should automate your decision to take your business elsewhere. Think twice before handing them your credit card.
