Bad way to study
I used My California Permit to prepare for my permit test and although I studied for hours on end I still failed my permit test. After I failed I looked up practice tests on the dmv website and passed easily. My California Permit did not adequately prepare me for the permit test at all.

We understand however, the curriculum is supplied by the DMV. This is all of the required information the DMV wants you to know. The point is that this is NOT a "test prep" class, rather it is required drivers education mandated by the state. Our performance has nothing too do with the curriculum supplied to us. Also we instructed you to take those practice tests BEFORE you went to the DMV. Those DMV practice tests are on our PERMIT page.
