Murphy Door started in a parking lot in Ogden, Utah, in 2012. Jeremy Barker, a career firefighter and paramedic, built the first hinge system himself because he needed to feed his kids and couldn't find a hidden door that actually worked. He built one. Then people started asking for their own.Today we're the largest designer and manufacturer of hidden doors in the country. We've shipped more than 200,000 orders to homes across America. We build hidden bookcase doors, Panic Rooms, Gun Doors, Secret rooms, hidden wall doors, French doors, storage doors, Murphy beds, mirror doors, Functional hiding furniture, floating drop down shelves, and the hardware that makes all of it move. Every piece is custom, built to order by our own design team, not pulled off a shelf.We run three plants, all in the USA: Ogden, Utah; Lexington, Kentucky; and a hardwood mill in Rigby, Idaho, which we bought so we control the wood from the log to the finished cut. Our hardware division, Murphy Door Machine, builds every hinge, every mechanical lock, and all the Murphy Bed hardware in house. Most of this industry imports hardware and puts their name on it. We don't.We've made the Inc. 5000 list seven times. NAHB gave us Best of IBS, Best Indoor Product, in 2022. We hold patents on our door systems. None of that means much if the door doesn't work once it's hanging in your house, so that's the bar we build to.Jeremy still works fire shifts. And is the Utah CEO of the Year by Utah Business 2026. This is still a family-run, American-made company, and we plan to keep it that way.

Part of this is on me but Murphy can do way better
Part of this is on me, but Alijah could have been way more helpful. I purchasdd the hamper door and calculated the loss of door depth to be the depth of the door (12 inches) when it was closer to 17 inch of loss for clearance. Now there are videos showijg this on YouTube. Murphy later said they've had people get upset by this and therefore it should have been said on the sales call. Then door shipped with the incorrect hamper door. Completely different than what was pictured. They said it was what I ordered but it most definitely was not and was not in the configurator. I get messaged 10% off all the time and asked thay meet me in the middle to ship the correct hamper door and they wont do it. I should have researched the depth more, thats on me but the rest is just a bad eCom experience and bad customer service.

Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. Our concierge, Alijah, walked us through the entire process and confirmed that all of our measurements were correct. We also received Email updates for the entire building process. The videos were helpful on how to install the product.It was rather simple, but there were a small details that we got stuck on. Thankfully, Alijah walked us through what to do when we got stuck.

Savannah made ordering our Murphy Door so easy. She called us to patiently walk us through all our questions and explained the mechanics of the door and installation clearly. We are very much looking forward to receiving it soon. Excellent customer service.

Friendly, courteous, and very helpful staff! Thorough ordering process and follow up to ensure the order is correct. They assign a concierge to each customer to ensure the progress from order, build and shipping keeps the customer informed. Vica is my concierge and has been very helpful!

Ease of ordering
Ease of ordering. Vica called to double check the order and offer primer to make sure the door stays in good shape until it is finished. She was friendly and knowledgeable. Great service!!
