Evading responsibility
A pop up on the login page to Mumara' self hosting app says "Mumara does not act as the email service provider for this system and therefore cannot be held responsibility for any email transmissions facilitated through it". Over the last two days I have received more than 20 emails, all variants of the same message, all from different addresses all using the Mumara app. All messages have an 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom which leads to the same place as the actual message link which includes '/campaign/clicked/' in its URL. Perhaps Mumara would like to explain how this could happen. Of those 20 one was an identifiable company. A search for all the others led only to a link to the Mumara app login page.

Dear Mike, Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’d like to clarify that Mumara is a self-hosted email marketing software provider. In self-hosted setups like the one you’ve encountered, emails are sent directly by the client’s server where the application is installed. We do not send emails on behalf of our clients or have access to their servers or mailing activities. For example, if someone installs Mumara on their own hosting server, they are solely responsible for how they use the software, including the emails they send. This is similar to how a web hosting provider is not responsible for the content of a website hosted by its clients. To address your concerns, we recommend identifying the company responsible for the emails you’ve received. You can do this by checking the sending domain or IP address and reaching out to the relevant hosting provider, domain registrar, or company managing the server. If you’d like assistance in identifying the right company to contact, we encourage you to open a support ticket with us. Our team will do their best to guide you in the right direction.
