Our Kumano Kodo trip was our third trip with MT. Sobek. The previous trips were Hiking Patagonia (2017) and Japan Nakasendo Trail in 2019. All have been excellent in every way—-the itinerary, the guides, the accommodations, food, and support. Our guides provided lots of historical and cultural information and arranged for some special experiences that were a nice suprise.

Hiking the Kumano Kodo is a truly memorable opportunity to immerse oneself in beautiful, mountainous forests of cedar, cypress, and golden gingkos, while encountering shrines small and large all along the way. It was fascinating and uplifting to learn more about Japan's uniquely syncretic spirtiualism and its relationship to the natural world. MTSobek's planning, services, and guides were fantastic!

I recently had the pleasure of taking Mountain Travel Sobek's Kumano Kodo trip, and I can honestly say it was one of the best travel experiences of my life.
