MoveBuddha - Moving Scam Alert
I was surprised and disappointed by my experience reviewing moveBuddha. At first glance, their moving company pages look polished and helpful. They include detailed information about individual moving companies, including company names, DOT numbers, addresses, reviews, licensing details, and other trust-related information. As someone in the moving industry, I initially thought this was a useful directory-style resource. However, when I clicked “Get Free Quote” on a company profile, the request did not appear to go directly to that moving company. Instead, it routed to a separate quote platform. That is concerning because consumers may reasonably believe they are contacting the specific mover whose profile they are viewing. In my opinion, this creates confusion for both customers and moving companies. If a page is built around a specific company’s name, reputation, and licensing information, the call-to-action should be very clear about whether the customer is contacting that company directly or being sent into a separate lead/quote marketplace. Consumers deserve transparency when shopping for movers. Moving is already stressful, and people need to know exactly who they are contacting, who will receive their information, and whether the company shown on the page is actually the company receiving the quote request. I hope moveBuddha adds clearer disclosures and more direct-contact options so customers and movers both understand how the process works.
