This company allows fraudsters to register domain names used to defraud the American people. The domain names are often typosquatted domains of the legitimate company then used to rank in search engine pages with cloned online banking pages that look and feel like the real one.

Thank you for sharing your concerns.
Domain registrars provide the infrastructure for domain registration, but we take reports of fraud, phishing, or abuse extremely seriously. We actively investigate credible abuse reports and work in accordance with applicable policies and legal requirements to address domains that may be used for malicious activities.
If you have identified a specific domain that you believe is involved in fraudulent activity, we strongly encourage you to report it through our abuse reporting channel with as much detail as possible so our team can review it promptly.
Protecting internet users and maintaining a safe online ecosystem is important to us, and we appreciate responsible reports that help us take appropriate action.

HORRIBLE Customer Service
I NEVER write reviews, but Moniker's "customer support" is so horrendous that I had no choice. I received a standard domain renewal email, but when I went to check to see the cost of the renewal, that information was not listed in the message. So I went to their website, clicked on the domain, but could not find the cost listed anywhere.
So I contacted "customer support" -- ie their AI bot which was confused by even the simplest question asking where I could find the cost of my domain. I asked to connect with an actual agent, and the AI Bot replied "please be rest assured that a ticket has been created and our team will get back to you as soon as possible via email." Of course I never received a follow up email from Moniker.
Days later I came back and tried again. Once again, after the AI Bot was completely useless, I asked to speak with a representative and it replied "At the moment, we don’t offer phone support. Our phone lines are temporarily unavailable as our team is focusing on providing the fastest possible help through online channels."
Translation: "We're too cheap to pay real people to help you."
I've been a customer of Moniker for over 15 years, and I will NEVER purchase from them again and will now begin the process of moving my domains to another host. Because if this how bad their "service" is now, it will only get worse.
TLDR; Do NOT use Moniker. They've outsourced all their "customer service" to completely unhelpful, ineffective, and impersonal AI Bots.

Worst Company Ever – Stay Away from Moniker
The worst company I’ve ever dealt with. They used to be Hexonet and I don’t know what happened, but they moved our domains to Moniker and since then it’s been nothing but headaches. Their prices are insanely high, they charge VAT even though our company is located in the United States, and their support is awful. They have a so-called AI chat that’s completely useless—it only opens support tickets that take more than 24 hours to get a reply. On top of that, they blocked my account for no reason. We need to renew a client’s domain and haven’t been able to because of this. Please, stay away from this company, they are extremely unprofessional.

27 Years with Moniker — Now a Total Disappointment
I’ve been with Moniker since the late 1990s — more than 27 years and current, as of this review, have 79 domain names with them. They were once my go-to registrar with stellar support, but sadly those days are gone.
There’s no longer any phone support, and emails go unanswered. Something as simple as adding an email address — which used to be quick and easy — has turned into a nightmare. I’ve spent hours trying to resolve this with no help.
Moniker has gone from a trusted partner to an unresponsive frustration. As a business, we cannot function this way, and I’ve already started moving my domains to a competitor. Very disappointing to see a once-great company decline so badly.

My domain name has only 2 days to…
My domain name has only 2 days to expire, why did you stop renewing it? From user: js873377 Do you consider consumers?
Response from MonikerAug 4, 2025
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we’re very sorry for the distress caused by the renewal issue with your domain. We understand how urgent it is when a domain is about to expire, and ensuring smooth renewals is a priority for us.
To address your concern, please note that automatic renewals depend on having updated payment information and valid account settings. Sometimes, renewals can fail due to payment or account issues, even if auto-renew is enabled. We recommend double-checking these settings or reaching out directly to our support so we can review your situation immediately and help secure your domain.
We value your feedback and want to ensure your concerns are resolved as quickly as possible.

service level at Hexonet was perfect, Moniker killed it all in a flip of a switch
service level at Hexonet was perfect then they have been acquired by moniker and now I am travelling into the Mordor... worst service level ever for me.
Moniker is just a joke, account created, bought credit then my account was blocked for 12 hours without reason, their helpdesk (helpless is more accurate) didn't solved anything, didn't even tried to help.
Right after that I receive a mail from their helpless team saying they have credited my purchase ... WHY ? I asked why, off course no answer whatsoever ... and credits seems to be on my account despite credit note ...
Want more ? I still receive a daily email from hexonet saying I have a low balance ... but I was migrated from Hexonet to moniker and in moniker I have more than 100 € in my account.
If I was not blocked until 2026 having domains already paid, I would run away without delay.
DON'T EVEN TRY this company, a pure scam.

Never had an issue until now… I’ve…
Never had an issue until now… I’ve purchased more than 20 domains in recent years… service has always been great! But no one will even reply to me… my domain is on hold with no listed reason and I bought it for 11 years. Just need a call back! Very frustrating!
