I expected more from Mongoose
The bike was damaged right out of the box and the company wanted to charge me $50 to return the bike. I didn't want to pay so they sent me the disk brake but then I had to wait a week and install it myself. The shifting is loud and not smooth at all. I've had the bike on my repair stand at least once a month and sometimes more. The kickstand is in the center which makes it hard to lube the chain. The seat tube is short and needs more of an angle. The down tube is oversized. The cables are exposed so I can't put a repair stand any place on the top tube so the seat tube is the only place to put it in a repair stand. Since there is no space to attach the stand under the top tube you have to fit it onto the seat stem which makes the front of the bike in the stand off balance. I find the bike is geared very low so my overall speed is very low. There is no chain guard. The knobs on the tires isn't pronounced enough so in sand it's very hard to keep any speed and the wheels aren't quick release. The front shocks aren't adjustable so I can't tune for the ground. My impression is that they charged more for substandard parts. Trying to think of what I like about the bike I would have to say the pedals are good gives good grip without having sharp edges. The handlebar grips are good and don't slip.
