Maine Peapod #977 (Midwest is the producer, Model Expo is the sales channel). ME invites customer support questions. After finding out the email the printed is wrong, I got in front of an "Ed." The challenge is that the keel and the forms are cut in such away that it's impossible to follow the directions with any hope of sucess. It's billed as a "beginners" kit... if I had NOT built other boats, I'd be confused... and I have built other boats and I was shocked. The keel can't be used as the instructions have you set it up on the forms. I had to build a custom solution and all that did was cause more customization as I went a long. I have pictures and the visuals say it all. After a series of detailed emails with visuals, and finally reaching out to Midwest (who have not responded... there's not line to call or any response to emails), I've concluded they don't care. I'm looking on all the online model boat building sites for support.

AVOID BUYING FROM MODEL EXPO 11/28/25 BOUGHT THE BLUENOSE 1921 FULL KIT WITH PAIN AND SOME TOOLS, TOTAL SPENT $474.00 AFTER ASKING TO REPLACE PART THAT WAS LASER BURN EXTENSIVELY, THEY ACCEPT TO REPLACE PARTS, BUT THE ISSUE IS THEY DONT SHIP THE PARTS ?? EXCHANGE 10 E-MAILS OVER LAST MONTH ASKING FOR CONFIRMATION OF SHIPMENT, ALWAYS SAME ANSWER, NOT SHIP YET WILL CHECK AND ADVISE YOU, GUEST WHAT THEY NEVER ADVISE YOU !! AS TODAY 1/24/26 I STILL HAVE NO ANSWER, NO SHIPMENT, THIS PLACE IS A JOKE, A SCAM, AND UNPROFESSIONAL AVOID BUYING FROM MODEL EXPO

Missing parts. When called they seemed to respond pretty fast but did not send all the missing parts. Now they won't respond at all. This was a horrible experience.

Ordered parts on Dec 29 and they charged my credit card, follow up on 1/8 (10 days later) said they just finished inventory and would expedite. Follow up 1/14, no reply, follow up 1/15, no reply, got a call 1/16 and they said it was back ordered. But it was not back ordered when I ordered, took them 18 days to tell me, but they had charged my card on day I ordered. Told them to cancel and credit my card, 9 days later, no credit. They can charge you the day you order (for parts they do not have), but cannot credit the card after 9 days. They have also stopped responding to all of my inquiries.
