Definitely not a wood fixture as advertised.
I did a Google search for wooden linear pendant light fixture. Mod lighting, brought up the Luka fixture and offered it in oak and Ash I believe. I selected
Oak. Specifications clearly delineated that the product was made out of wood, aluminum, and a Specifications clearly delineated that the product was made out of wood, aluminum, and acrylic.Imagine my surprise when it arrived as cheap sheet metal that didn’t weigh a pound. Not at all the substantial Fixture I was looking for. When I tried to return it, they told me that even though they were in New York company and did not let anyone know they were from China. I would have to ship it back to China at a cost of $120. I told them that I needed a US address to return it at which point they told me I could not return it at all because they had made a custom adjustment to the canopy of the fixture. Buyer beware of two things;
Number one even though they advertise as a wood fixture it is just a wood colored paint over metal
Number two, even though they purport to be an American company, fixtures ship direct from China and are extremely expensive to return.
To their credit, I noticed MOD lighting, has now revise their specifications, so that it no longer says the fixture is made of wood.

Hello Dan, we are sorry for any confusion but Luka is made out of aluminum and acrylic materials. Please reach out to our customer care team via email if you wish to return, however, please note that customized orders are non-refundable. Either way, do reach out to us and we will try our best to accommodate and rectify this! Thanks again for your business!

Unsafe, bad product and bad customer service
The light looked great, but was dangerously made. The ground wire didn't make electrical contact with anything. Two of the three screws in the wire connector were screwed down onto the insulation of the wires rather than the stripped part of the wire, meaning they also did make proper electrical contact, and the insulation was damaged. The voltage ranges and some other specs were different on the website, the "instructions," and the light itself. And also, the "instructions" were just a single sheet of writing in Chinese, with nothing useful for an English-speaking buyer.
Returning it was an ordeal. I asked for a refund, and they kept telling me how to "fix the problem." (Note I didn't have a problem; I just refused to connect a dangerously made light to my house's electrical system because I don't want to risk my house burning down.) Then they started offering me large discounts to just keep the light. Finally they gave me a Canadian address to send the light back to (note that I am in the US), which means I had to spend about $100 (USD) to ship it to Canada, including customs charges. Since we mailed it back, UPS has been calling us and telling us that Mod Lighting hasn't been paying them the customs fee (which Mod Lighting deducted from my refund), so UPS won't deliver the light back to Mod Lighting. It feels a bit like a con job, and I wasted $100 + a ton of hassle on the return.
EDIT: It’s now been 1.5 months since MOD Lighting responded to my initial comment, claiming they would reach out to me, but I’ve heard nothing from them.

sent the incorrect transformer, non dimmable.
Response from MOD LIGHTINGNov 27, 2022
Hello Adam, It looks like you ordered the single color option in warm white, hence no dimmable option was shipped. The transformer is correct based on the order placed! Let us know if you have any questions, and we are always here to help!

Typical bait and switch website
Typical bait and switch website. The light we recieved was nothing like the picture... it was a cheap light fixture with a spray painted cheap looking gold finish instead of the nice/gold brass from the pictures. You can tell the light was just a knock off of the light that was in thr pictures. It is very telling when there are so many negative reviews, I should have checked the other reviews first... returned the item right away... and it is ridiculous that they charge restocking when it isn't the item you would expect. False advertising at it's finest.
Edit: they did not charge the restocking fee but it took 5 or 6 emails of arguing to make sure they didn't! Doesn't change the fact that this is a bait and switch.
Response from MOD LIGHTINGNov 28, 2022
Hi Andy, we are sorry that you did not like the gold color, we appreciate your feedback to help us improve our products and services. That said, we did NOT charge restocking fee on your order, you were refunded in full, so just wanted to clarify that.

Do Not Buy… China grade. Cheap plastic
The lights looked cheap and they were plastic not glass. Some parts were missing. When inquired about the return they suggest discount of less than a third of the cost. I declined
I confirmed that I’d like to return the item and they gave me a return label with the address to China 🇨🇳. It cost me $143 to send it back but I paid quite a bit for the light. It took about 2.5 months to get to China but eventually, I got some of the money back. Make sure you have the USPS tracking for the return.
Response from MOD LIGHTINGNov 25, 2022
Hello Tex, upon checking, you placed order on Sparkle, to correct, it is not made of cheap plastic..We never said it was made of glass either. Please note that Sparkle is made of premium 100% acrylic material and aluminum. We still proposed a discount even though we never misled customers on the material of the product. Per checking, we have also processed a refund already on your order upon the receipt of the product. The return shipping cost is outside of our control, but we are happy to announce that we are accepting returns now in our US and Canadian return depot! If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us.

“meh” sums up
“meh” sums up my service experience. I cancelled the order and Mod conveniently shipped the next day. Order did not have the discount they promised in email. Box and packaging was the absolutes cheapest they could have used. Ended up selling the light for a discount on craigslist. EDIT: MOD trying to get review erased. Here is my response; I contacted MOD several times asking for cancellation, and this is PRIOR to receiving any kind of ship notification. While I was promised a refund, shipping would have been at my expense. I also did not receive a discount as promised for keeping the item, which i also communicated with your team about.
I no longer have the fixture and stand by the accuracy of the review.
Aloha!
