Unlike any other institution you will ever find. It is just different... in its approach, in its behavior as an institution of higher learning, in its expectation of you as a student, in the manner of service delivery and in the overall compassion and concern for a students growth.. There is nothing quite like it. A chance to study at MIU will give you access to a community of friends that honestly will last a lifetime. The sense of warmth and belonging that comes from having been a part of MIU is something i doubt any other institution can match. It's not about the quality of the education, or extra curricular activities, or lifestyle, or any of the other markers that people use to assess an institution that set it apart, and above all others ( although it scores highly on all those). It is the simple fact that anyone who chooses or considers MIU has something about them that speaks to, and recognizes a common unspoken bond that drives us all. And for those that don't seek but still manage to stumble onto MIU, it sparks this awakening. it's a community of breathtaking diversity yet agreeable and in touch with everthing around it. . The vibrancy, unbridled enthusiasm, over flowing positivity, cacophony of cultures, ... it's just a beautiful world there. Even when you leave... it stays with you forever.

I love the people, and I love the development of my own inner experience. This is such a soft sweet environment, where I feel safe being myself. And the meditation practice, TM, and its advanced programs are so wonderfully fulfilling. No where else do I think I could grow so fast and so comfortably towards my full potential.

I graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a BA in environmental design. It was a time and environment of tremendous idealism of how to change the world. We thought proper planning could promote a sustainable balanced ecology and ensure a higher quality of life. We talked about raising consciousness, ending crime, overcoming poverty through urban planning, etc etc. But, honestly, it was all talk. Change has to be real. It can’t be a philosophy or ism. It must address the deepest levels of human experience. It must come from inside. This is what attracted me to MIU and it’s consciousness-based approach to education. It’s curriculum actually includes a simple technology to systematically develop one’s ability to experIence life. It is education to directly unfold human potential with all of its benefits: greater creativity and intelligence, more happiness, more appreciation of others and the world as nothing other than myself. And it is only through this kind of education that real change can take place in our world family. And the first beneficiary will be you. I think it is true that no matter what field you pursue, if you want to create a better world, MIU is the place to start.

It was my favorite educational experience. Prior to MIU I had done two higher education degrees, and found them to be exhausting and stressful. Because of MIUs emphasis on educating the whole person- mind, body and spirit- I was able to obtain another advanced degree with little stress and a lot of delight. I

I graduated with my Bachelors and Masters from Maharishi International University (MIU). I attended the University of Houston before MIU and there was no comparison. MIU supported my growth and happiness on every level. Academically, the professors were not only extremely knowledgeable in their particular field but they provided a real connection with us as students. Socially, the friends I made there are friends for life. Most importantly, the fact that all the students and faculty practice Transcendental Meditation, which enlivens and expands the container of knowledge, our consciousness, and at the same time dissolves stress, is the invaluable, distinctive benefit of this unique University. I 200%, inwardly and outwardly, recommend MIU to any student of any age.

Studying at MIU was the best thing I ever did. It totally changed my life. At MIU the teachers really care about you and make time for you. There is organic food to eat and it is multicultural with people from all over the world. I loved it.

One of the best decisions I ever made in my academic life was to attend MIU for a master's degree. Classes were challenging, lively, and life-affirming. The best part was being supported by faculty and administration in not only reaching my academic goals, but doing so while not being stressed and staying rested. It's the most unique learning environment I have ever been in.
