Microsoft/Minecraft have ignored my last three support emails regarding their threats to delete non migrated accounts later this year. Each time they have closed the ticket before I got a response other than an automated wall of text telling me how to migrate. I purchased Minecraft in 2010 well before Microsoft purchased the IP. At the time I was promised that I could continue to access the full game forever with my purchase. Microsoft seem to have decided not to honour the original terms of sale , requiring me to "migrate" and in the process accept a whole new bunch of terms which are detremential compared to the ones I originally agreed to. Now Microsoft is saying they will delete the account and permanently remove my access to software that was sold tome with the promise of being able to access the full game forever, and continue to ignore any support requests I put in

Minecraft is very cool, and it is very fun. I like when I kill the mobs and build creative structures.

Minecraft ist eines der beliebtesten Spiele weltweit. Es ist außerdem meines Wissens nach das meistverkaufte Spiel auf der Welt. In dem Klötzchen-Sandbox-Spiel gibt es verschiedene Spielmodi mit verschiedenen Schwierigkeitsstufen und eine sehr große Auswahl an Baublöcken und interaktiven Blöcken. Wenn einem diese nicht ausreichen, kann man auch noch sogenannte 'Mods' [Modifikationen] hinzufügen, die dem Spiel mehr Blöcke, Funktionen und 'Items' hinzufügen. Es gibt auch 'Entities' [Entitäten wenn ich richtig liege], die z.B. Schweine, Kühe oder Fische sein können. Natürlich ist die Kreativität nicht alles, es gibt auch noch 'Survival' und 'Adventure' modi. Im Survival modus kann man gegen Monster kämpfen [auch Entities], nicht fliegen um besser bauen zu können, etc. Zusammenfassung. Minecraft ist ein sehr schönes Spiel, wo man seiner kreativität freien lauf lassen kann.

As someone who has used computers from command line days I thought it would be easy to install the thing and get playing it. It's a grim experience and we may have paid nearly 40 quid for the WRONG version for our kid. Maybe they need to actually get some UX people involved? It's so difficult to actually work out what to download, and when you have the software on your computer (Microsoft laptop) it's unrelentingly confusing to know what you've got. I've spent a couple of days talking to other parents to work out what to do. I've never experienced such a confusing, idiotic environment. We STILL don't know if we've bought the right thing. PLUS we still haven't actually been able to use the thing. Am thinking of contacting our credit card holder and complaining - it's that bad an experience. Guys, you need to make the install process rational and simple, and not some kafkaesque nightmare.
