Use at your own risk.
In repairing my tree-damaged roof, they tore off the entire overhang decking, which was mostly undamaged, and replaced it with a cheaper material rather than making the trip to HD to replace the damaged section with matching lumber (tongue and groove pattern boards). This was despite my explicit instructions to contact me about any deviations from the scope. By failing to inspect their subcontracted laborers' work, their initial repair was not only wrong, but dangerous. Broken rafter tails were cosmetically repaired, but not attached to any framing, so if a person stepped on the overhang, it would not have supported their weight. Almost every single nail was nailed above the nailing line, in the single-thickness section of shingle, voiding the manufacturer's warranty. Worst of all, a fist-size hole clear into my attic was "repaired" by replacing a single shingle over the hole, with the decking, underlayment and lower shingle untouched. Had the owner taken proper responsibility for these failures from the beginning, I could have attributed this to a poor choice in laborers and not enough supervision. Unfortunately, Rafael only conceded the most blatant contract violations, and lied to avoid responsibility for rework labor that would have been inconvenient for him. It took painful lengths to convince him to perform the full scope of agreed-upon repairs. In the end, the repair still fell short of his promises, but I'm no longer suprised by this.
