My experience working on a project through Mercor was extremely disappointing. There was no live communication, proper training, or clear explanation of how the tasks were supposed to be completed. I spent hours trying my best to understand the work and meet the expectations without meaningful guidance or support. The project advertised good pay, but when payment time approached, I was suddenly removed without a clear explanation. No one told me specifically what was wrong with my performance, what standards I supposedly failed to meet, or whether I would be paid for all the hours I had already worked. Workers deserve clear instructions, constructive feedback, transparent performance standards, and timely payment for completed work. Based on my experience, Mercor did not provide any of these things. I would not recommend accepting a project through this company unless all expectations, payment terms, and removal policies are clearly provided in writing beforehand.

This is a scam. They expect you to train unpaid with little or no material or guidance. I put in 32h on my assigned task and was canceled and ejected before I could submit. Pay is effectively awful. You are expected to do a complex engineering research task in 15h and then you MAY get paid. This is a trash organization.

If I could give this company minus 10 stars out of 5 then I would but I can't unfortunately I have to give the default one star they don't deserve one star they don't deserve any stars! Dear Mercor, It appears from a recent bad Google review, and my bad experience and first impression of the company, your reputation surpasses you! Your treatment of me, and my candidacy, was unacceptable! I'll be leaving bad reviews, of your company, here on TripAdvisor, Google Reviews and Glassdoor to warn others like the extremely poor Google Review I first saw did. I've already warned a friend, as a potential candidate, off your company. Having had watched a short video, from your CEO, it definitely appears in this case the fish does rot from the head down! And since checking I can see other multiple one-star reviews also, you're a horrible disgusting company! You're a scam, fake company, that needs shutting down! Clearly it wasn't just me that had a very bad experience, and poor first impression, please do not waste my time ever again! ~ JP

My recent interaction with Owen Wu of Mercor highlighted a significant issue within the platform’s talent‑facing operations. During a brief ten‑minute Zoom meeting, his communication style came across as unnecessarily condescending and dismissive. Confidence is valuable in business, but in this case it crossed into egocentrism, creating an environment that felt neither collaborative nor respectful. As someone who has led and advised successful businesses for decades, I would not rely on—or recommend—any of the guidance he presented. The interaction reflected poorly on Mercor and represents a notable blemish on the company’s professional image. I hope he learns from this.
