Unreliable Equipment and Unreasonable Refund Policy
UPDATE: As a result of posting my ONE STAR review, the Medcom Group did reach out and apologize. They credited me $250 (of the $775 paid) to compensate for the equipment failures and interruptions to my rehabilitation. I think the refund is fair, but the equipment is still old and unreliable, therefore I am updating my one-star review to 2 stars. Unreliable Equipment and Unreasonable Refund Policy. I rented a CPM shoulder rehabilitation chair for three weeks and was extremely disappointed with both the equipment and the company's customer service. Throughout the rental period, the programmed cards required to operate the chair failed repeatedly. The company initially mailed replacement cards, but those also required reprogramming over the phone. It took several attempts to reach someone who could assist us, resulting in additional frustration and interruptions to my rehabilitation. Toward the end of the three-week rental period, the cards failed yet again. At that point, we decided to return the chair rather than spend more time troubleshooting equipment that should have worked reliably from the beginning. When we requested a partial refund for the repeated equipment failures, the company refused. Their explanation was that our rental had been purchased under a promotional offer of "buy two weeks, get one week free," which apparently meant the equipment could fail for seven days without any refund being issued. A promotional offer should not excuse unreliable medical equipment or absolve a company of responsibility for providing a functioning product. We paid for a three-week rental expecting three weeks of usable rehabilitation equipment, not repeated technical problems, lengthy troubleshooting, and interrupted therapy. The company's unwillingness to acknowledge these problems or offer even a modest partial refund was particularly disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone relying on CPM equipment for post-surgical rehabilitation.
