Doctor hung up on me without even saying a word. Then the system said I had an appointment, and won't let me rebook since "I had an appointment within 24 hours." Providers are consistently not providing care and doing this. Providers also blame everything on allergies, not providing appropriate care since they claim it is because you need to be physically checked out anyway.

Doctor was not knowledgeable about COPD, wanted me to tie up an ER even though I didn't need to go to an ER. The Doctor was out of their comfort zone and wanted to pass the buck, timing up an ER. Obviously, doesn't understand what an ER is fir. With 02 stats at 91-93% for a person with COPD is not an emergency. This Doctor should not be working for MDLive.

Awful awful experience. I logged into the portal and saw my psychiatrist appointment would cost me $0 so I booked an appointment. I usually go through general medicine for $30 but was excited to see my dashboard say $0. My payment for the visit was $0 until I just received a claim for $261!? My portal is now updated to show $261 for visits but it was $0 or else I would have NEVER booked with them. Customer support wasn't able to help either.

Wish I could give zero stars. It’s obvious the doctor is not reading anything that is submitted by the patient. Probably some sort of heath care scam

When I made an online appointment to renew my prescription, I saw it showed me $0.00 charge. However, a month later, I received a surprise bill for $70 after insurance. When I called customer service, they told me it was billed as a counseling appointment and that charges apply when prescriptions are issued by that type of provider. If I had known there would be a charge, I would have scheduled an in-person visit with a doctor instead and had my blood pressure and heart rate checked as well. It feels very misleading that I was not informed of any cost upfront and only received a bill a month later. Had I been aware of the charge, I would have chosen a different type of appointment. This feels like a bait-and-switch situation. Patients should be clearly informed of any charges before an appointment so they can make an informed decision about their care.

I chose MDLive for the convenience and accessibility of online therapy, but my experience has been very disappointing. I had two separate therapy appointments that were either canceled or not attended as scheduled. As a therapy client, I set aside time, plan my day around appointments, and come prepared to discuss personal matters. Repeated disruptions like this make it difficult to build trust and maintain continuity of care. I understand that emergencies happen, but when missed appointments become a pattern, it feels unprofessional and disrespectful of a patient’s time. I hope MDLive takes reliability and accountability more seriously when it comes to mental health services. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend MDLive or provider Catherine L. Kendrick for therapy.

It is very obvious that providers do not care about patients at all, or to them (customers). Providers have had gaps in basic medical knowledge as well. Customer service has been very unhelpful when I have called. Matter of fact, I was supposed to receive a call back from a "supervisor" 5 months ago, never did. 2 Separate Incidents: 1) The reason for my appointment was a provider is required to order lab test order for a specific diagnosis, and despite having provided this information to the pre appointment form this, I was not informed that an MDLive urgent care provider could not order lab tests until AFTER I was charged. I found this weird because urgent care centers can ALWAYS order lab tests. Reached out to customer service but to no avail for 5 months. Anyway, decided to give them another chance 2) Provider genuinely could have been on a beach, there was so much background noise made it hard to hear them. I informed the provider of test results & still they prescribed me medication for something I tested negative for reasoning that it could have been a false negative. I was advised by my actual PCP and healthcare team to NOT take the medication since I did not have a confirmed diagnosis for the illness and it could bring more harm than good. Lesson learned. Always go in person to trusted & competent healthcare professionals. MDLive does not care.

This was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a doctor. I've been having ear pain in my right ear after a bad bout of seasonal allergies. This hasn't happened to me before, so I wanted to see if maybe it was an ear infection that needed antibiotics or if it would likely go away on its own. When it was time for my appointment, the doctor simply logged in for about 2 minutes, told me it's "probably" not an infection, and recommended that I go get it checked out with an urgent care. I live in a rural area where we don't have access to an urgent care, and I was only trying MDLive because my PCP is on vacation this week. So, for any perspective patients, I'd advise skipping MDLive and just paying the co-pay to go to an urgent care or your PCP. I feel like I just wasted an hour of my life and my ear still hurts.
