1 Star Is Too Generous — A Total Healthcare Failure
I used MDLIVE for a 3 AM virtual visit because I was in pain and needed antibiotics urgently. I was told the prescription would be sent immediately to a 24-hour pharmacy so I wouldn’t have to wait for care. Instead, I waited over 7 hours just to get the prescription sent — and when it finally was, the medication was prescribed in a form that my insurance didn’t cover. The pharmacy explained that capsules (which cost around $10) were covered, but MDLIVE had written it for tablets (which cost over $70). The pharmacist couldn’t substitute it — only the prescribing doctor could change it. I called my insurance (Cigna), and they confirmed that only the provider can change the prescription — but MDLIVE’s doctor was completely unreachable. No call back. No email. No follow-up. Nothing. At the time I’m writing this review, it’s been over 14 hours since my appointment, and I still don’t have a filled prescription. This entire experience has been an exhausting waste of time and money. The provider was unprofessional, barely visible on screen, didn’t let me explain my symptoms, and the “After Care Instructions” just linked to a generic blog about insurance — not medical guidance. MDLIVE failed on every level: • Failed to deliver timely care • Failed to ensure insurance compatibility • Failed to provide a reachable provider for follow-up • Failed to protect patient safety I’ve requested a refund and was told it would take up to 45 business days. Frankly, I don’t think this company should be allowed to call itself a healthcare provider. I wouldn’t recommend MDLIVE to anyone — even in an emergency. Go literally anywhere else.
