Like another user said, if I could give MDLIVE less than one star I would. I used the service for the first time yesterday. Never again. I called yesterday due to a sinus infection. I've had them before, I know what they are like. I was told it was viral and not bacterial and I should drink plenty of fluids and use steam. I knew the Dr. was wrong and the advice was pretty useless to me. This morning I saw my primary care physician and I have a nasty sinus infection (I knew that yesterday). It cost me $25 yesterday to be given useless advice and another $30 today so I could get the medicine I desperately needed. I will never use this service again and I would not recommend these people to anyone.

So, today is the first time I am trying this service. Don't have time to go to the doctor tomorrow so thought I would save time by using this service. Set up my appointment. Said I was first in line and it would be about 9 minutes. That was 40 minutes ago. I tried to cancel the appointment about 4 times now, but it's still in there. I just checked and now I'm 2nd in line and still had a wait of 8 minutes. Suddenly as I'm typing this, I get a text that my consultation was accepted and I would get a call shortly. As most people mentioned, it was a waste of time. I had sent over pictures of my issue, but guess what...the doctor can't see them. I researched my symptoms for a few hours before calling and what he suggested it was was nothing that I had found. So, I told him just forget it I would have to just go to my regular doctor. After I hung up with him, I get an automated call stating that it appeared I had missed a call from their doctor and wanted to know if I still required a call back. What a joke.

DO NOT EVER USE!!!!! Such a joke!!!! Ive called MD live 6 times in the past 2 years Ive had it and each time they have either told me some bull about calling back if im not feeling better or when they have prescribed me meds they don't give a long enough prescription or strong enough dose and I end up going to my PCP. Well 1st off im never using them again and secondly the doctor who called me had his dogs asking in the background. Come on! IF Im complaining of my ear hurting thats the last damn thing I want to hear are your dogs barking, So unprofessional. 10 minutes pointless phone call and waste of $42.

This is 2nd time in 4 months I have tried to us MD live. Waste of $40 each time. 1rst time i called for my self and gave all symptoms of sinus infection. Explained I was leaving for vacation in a few days and would be flying. Was told to call back in a few days if not better. Explained I was flying and my concerns..she said I was not sick enough yet. Well.. 5 days after my call. After a terrible flight that I thought my head was going to explode I ended up in urgent care with... a sinus infection and a $260 bill. 2nd time was just today. My son who is getting over stomach virus (confirmed at urgent care ) called because he now has head and nasal pressure. Low grade temp and has green junk when he blows his nose. Dr who spoke poor English gave same statement... call back if not better in 5 days. Well off to urgent care again. MD LIVE IS A GREAT WAY TO WASTE MONEY. I will file a complaint with NYS health department next.

I specifically stated that I was in between doctors and I needed a prescription for Topamax, for chronic migraines. When the insurance company needed a prior authorization, which is a routine/common procedure that ANY doctor should know how to do, they REFUSED to do it. They then informed me that I would need to get it from my......wait for it..... PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN! If I had a PCP I would not have needed MDLIVE. As others have stated I wish I could give a ZERO star review. If they had refunded the $49 for the 3 minute phone call, I would not be writing this review. So ...... $49 wasted.... no medication.... STILL HAVE MIGRAINE. Update 4-15-18. Their response to my review was indicative of this company's performance. It was slow, shifted blame to my insurance company, and made it seem like they are willing to remedy the problem by giving me a phone number to call..... Which is the circuitous and frustrating route that led to the nasty review in the first place

My wife is sick and the insurance company referred us to mdlive. We signed in and got in line. All to wait 2 hours and have the session drop. My wife is still sick and we have to go to urgent care. Mdlive, sucks!

If I could give a zero rating, I would. This service is a complete SCAM and a RIP OFF of insurance companies, I have no idea why Blue Cross chooses to affiliate itself and recommend a company that is clearly ripping them off. I tried to fight off a sinus infection for 10 days, but it finally got the best of me, so I set up my account and got an appointment. (I am almost 60 and have routinely gotten sinus infections my entire adult life, so I know the drill). That sign up process all went fairly quickly. However, the so-called doctor didn't even listen to my symptoms, he just told me I had a common cold and to tough it out. The co-pay had already been collected before the call and my insurance company was billed the balance. Within 24 hours, I went to an urgent care facility and was prescribed medication to treat a sinus infection. Another co-pay and charge to my insurance company. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

If a zero was possible I would give that review. My child is transgender and has not changed legal name or gender marker. I kindly asked the doctor to please call my child by her preffered name which he explained that he had to go with what was on record. I confirmed my childs birth given name at the begining of the call not sure why my child needed to be repeatedly called he or just the child. I called and spoke with customer service Jason the supervisor was the niceset and said he would have the nurse review the call. She was harsh and said the doctor did what he had to do but could not explain in full what the policies for transgender children were in respect to preffered name. My childs doctors office uses preffered pronouns and names not sure why they could not. The nurse stood by the doctor was frustrated when I asked what the policy was as I asked how a call could be deemed as acceptable if she didnt even know the policy. She said she will ask for a 360 review but didn't say who would call and hung up after I thanked her kindly. The prescription was called in for Tamiflu but literally was asked 4 questions by the doctor and felt very brushed off with the whole experience. I think a doctor, customer service and the nurse should be able to state what their policies are before defending behavior.
