Have used this service 4 times. First time was excellent. Last three times they would take pertinent information, advise that Dr would call back shortly. However no one would call back, then get an email that I missed the call back. This would go on three or four times. Each time I would have to start all over with information! What should have taken 30 minutes tops, took several hours!

Not helpful or clear...
I have had decent experiences with MD Live in the past, but I was left frustrated today when I called and tried to schedule a consultation. Because of our changes in insurance, we have gone back a forth between MD Live and TeleDoc, but through our new insurance, my mom went ahead and paid for MD Live out of pocket because our new insurance charged us when we called their service and it was cheaper to pay for MD Live. When I called today, I went through the normal set up and gave them my information. They lady was nice, but when she asked for the primary on the account and I gave her my moms name, she asked me if anything had changed, which I replied that I didn’t think anything had. She began to get very vague, placed me on hold, and asked me several more times if anything had changed, but would never tell me what her concern was. She finally said that we could go ahead and start my registration and schedule my appointment (“as long as nothing has changed”), but because of her vagueness I was worried and decided to call my mom to make sure everything was ok. It turns out, that my mom cancelled MD Live and our account is inactive. Which, of course, is my mistake. My issue is that the lady would never come out and say that our account was inactive, she kept asking me “had anything changed” (which to my knowledge at that time, it hadn’t) to which I would reply, “no”. So had I not called my mom, they would have scheduled my appointment and then sent me a bill knowing that we no longer had an active account with them. So instead of being helpful and telling me I didn’t have an active account and to call and check, they saw dollar signs and tried to get me to register for an appointment, so they could send a bill for it later.

Extremely Dissapointed
Ended up paying $75 for doctor to tell me what I had going on was “viral” the sad thing it’s that it was the same diagnosis for my girls also on other two times prior to my appointment. So I paid $225 for pretty much for nothing. I managed to get my girls in to urgent care and they both had strep. I probably had the same but again... they told me it’s was just a virus. Very disappointed.

Bad phone experience
Bad phone experience. Put 3 prehold authorizations on my Amex and then told me the card was declined. I told her that was impossible since it was on my Amex account 3 times. She put me on hold while she was trying to figure out what was going on and I got hung up on. I had to call back and start the whole thing over and was told they have no record of my previous call or pending transactions. Doctor call right away but took 25 hours to send in my prescription to the pharmacy. Rediculous!

Don’t use MDLIVE, the doctors don’t listen to their patients!!
I called in because I couldn’t get an appointment to see my regular doctor. The doctor I spoke to refused to listen to me or really my symptoms. I knew I had a severe sinus infection. His course of treatment was continue doing nasal rinses and use a nasal spray. I expressed a need for an antibiotic but he wouldn’t prescribe one for me. Well guess what, because of this doctor’s lack of compassion and inability to listen and his refusal to give me an antibiotic, MY EAR DRUM RUPTURED!!!! Thanks for not listening and causing me even more pain. Never will I ever refer anyone to MDLIVE!!

Hi, Jack. We're sorry to hear that you've been so sick. If your doctor provided a prescription, it's best that you take it as directed and schedule a follow up visit in a few days if your symptoms do not improve. Hope you're feeling better.

Waste of time and energy...never again!
I’m an ICU nurse who works night shifts. Came down with a sinus infection and I am in the middle of a work week. I thought this would be perfect to get treated and still be able to get rest so I could go back to work tonight. I get sinus infections at least once a year, I have a very long (and painful) history of tonsillitis and have had to have my tonsils lanced 4 times due to infections. I am very aware of how fast a sinus infection turns into a serious life threatening emergency. I tried explaining all of this to the MD who told me “to give it a few more days” and “take 3 OTC ibuprofen” and “switch my allergy pill”. So after that complete waste of my time, I am now sitting in my PCP office because he could luckily squeeze me in to treat my infection! But way to make me feel like a drug seeker for asking for an antibiotic!

We are concerned about your experience and would love to talk more with you. Please send us a phone number at which we can reach you. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, we greatly appreciate it.
