Not a good first experience. So bad in fact, that I started looking for insurance options the next day.
I went to an urgent care two days later and they were great. Not sure if I will ever use the MD system again to tell the truth.

The overall experience was a waste of…
The overall experience was a waste of my time. I spent a long time filling out the profile online. I made sure my profile was as honest and detailed as possible.
Then I finally get to speak to a doctor and he was condescending with me and gave up after I told him about the side effects I had already experienced on the only 2 antibiotics he was willing to prescribe for me. He offered a Medrol dose pack of steroids for my sinus infection - which I did not fill. What I needed was an antibiotic.
I will not be recommending telemedicine to anyone after this experience.

Diagnosed me wrong
Diagnosed me wrong. Had to go to the doctor and get a steroid shot and Antibiotic shot. He recommended Alka-Seltzer cold. A joke! Will not use again!

Misdiagnosed Twice--then overcharged
Misdiagnosed Twice
I called last week with significant pain and swelling in my neck (lymph nodes; right side), as well as a weeklong history of fever, right sided ear and throat pain. Two different providers misdiagnosed me, insisting my illness was viral (the well known 'only on the right side' virus, apparently). Both providers were more interested in lecturing me than listening, and repeatedly tried to address symptoms I wasn't having. The first provider was almost certainly reading off a script and wouldn't deviate, regardless of the fact that the advice wasn't applicable (like how to treat nasal congestion that I didn't have). The second provider simply agreed with the first, in spite of my repeated assertions that I had an ear infection. I was told, 'Adults don't get ear infections' (which is patently absurd) and treated to a lecture about the dangers of over-prescribing antibiotics--which I'm very familiar with, coming from a clinical background. Both providers were dismissive of my concerns, and the first even told me that the fist-sized swelling in my neck was a good thing.
Ended up having to pay a significant sum of money to go to Urgent Care, who diagnosed me with...a bad middle ear infection. If I had listened to the providers' advice to 'wait it out' another week, I likely would've ended up in the Emergency Department. Luckily, I have enough experience in clinical settings to know what's up, but how many people are taking these providers at their word and ending up significantly sicker as a result?
I have requested a refund of my consultation fee, with no resolution. I've used other telehealth providers in the past with no issues, so I know this isn't a telehealth problem, it's an MDLIVE problem.
The best thing I can say is that the on-call nurse I reached when I was dissatisfied with the first provider was lovely and helpful. Can't say the same for the docs, unfortunately.
Edit: Just a quick update (11/27/19), since I can't reply to MDLIVE's reply. Still no resolution, even after emailing and contacting customer service. Then, I noticed ANOTHER charge came through just yesterday from them! So not only have I never been refunded for my first misdiagnosis, I was charged AGAIN a month later. Called customer service who said it was "a system error", but refused to provide me something via email stating that so I could dispute it with my bank. They overdrafted my account with this 'error' and told me it 'should be resolved in a few weeks', again while refusing to provide me anything in writing.
I'm not usually a complainer, but at this point MD LIVE has cost me $250 for the privilege of being dismissed and misdiagnosed, and won't act with even the slightest bit of good faith to resolve any of this.
Don't ever, ever use this service. You're better off finding another telehealth provider or just biting the bullet and going to Urgent Care/the ED, as much as it pains me to say it. This service is not even remotely doing what it's intended to do.

Disappointed
Sinus infection. Needed antibiotic. Spoke to doctor early in day. Calling in RX. Pharmacy trips, more than 5 phone calls and it was FINALLY called in just as my pharmacy closed that evening. Pharmacy stayed open late for me. Won’t use this again. Simple issue and no one on the phone could help in anyway. All they could do is say “I’m sorry you don’t feel well “. Pharmacy gets five stars. Med live gets zero. So disappointed. Was told each time I called that someone would call me back. Two days later I received a phone call. I used a sick day waiting for medicine to be called in. How did this save me time and money? My home and pharmacy are about an hour from my office. I was hoping to work part of the day. By seven pm my ear was aching as well with infection. I don’t think they should collect payment until they do their job. Payment was first and I was at their mercy. No one was capable of helping me when I called. What purpose is that?

No effort by online doctor other than…
No effort by online doctor other than to tell me to go somewhere else and get evaluated I had told them I thought I had either a urinary tract infection and was expecting a script for antibiotics not a referral to spend over $100 to go to a clinic and have the same thing done
Response from MDLIVENov 15, 2019
Hi Timothy, our doctors are very cautious about writing antibiotic prescriptions, as to avoid the potential dangers of antibiotic resistance. We're sorry you had an unpleasant experience.
