SCAM ALERT!
As a videographer and small business owner who was looking to expand my clientele, I looked to Master Filmmaker to partner up with in hopes of bolstering my sales strategy—which proved to be a 6 month sunk cost and was the biggest scam. On the sales call with Master Filmmaker's rep, Zhin Goran, I shared that my target clientele was mid-sized to enterprise accounts, as opposed to “mom-and-pop” shops. I was apprehensive at the thought that they’d be able to cater to my needs, but Zhin Goran kept reiterating that they would have a customizable business plan in place that would be successful with my target clientele, in addition to reassuring me that they have a “money back guarantee” with their program. Their “guarantee” is that if you don’t make your money back by the time of your contract then they will work with you for free until you get your money. Based on that promise, I decided to fork over $10K against my better judgment because I trusted that if I was paying for a premium service with the promise of a return on investment, it seemed like a low-risk, high-reward scenario. I attended weekly sync-up calls and applied all of their aggressive sales tactics, resulting in hundreds of hours of labor, only to lose some of my current clients by seeming too pushy with the techniques Eric Deeran (owner of Master Filmmaker) and Ethan Sebok (Sales Coach) encouraged me to apply to my outreach. After about 3-4 months, I started to grow impatient and resentful and voiced my frustrations with the program, only to have my grievances fall upon deaf ears. I did some outreach to fellow peers in the program and I discovered that an astonishing amount of people (around 85%) also had no returns after committing to the program and had a mutual feeling of regret in paying for this program. After I learned of this shared experience with other people in the program, I decided to confront Eric Deeran and ask him for an explanation. He agreed that the program was not producing results and said he would get me a contract worth the $10k that I invested into the program. Lo and behold, this was another broken promise and blatant lie. After my 6 months was up, I was removed from the group without notice or explanation. They legitimately took my money and ran. This huge mistake cost me $10k, and I hope those who read this learn from my lapse in judgment. Eric Deeran and his team are not genuine people and do not have your best interest. Once Eric realized he could capitalize on videographers’ main pain point (sales) he ditched his very own production company to solely focus on taking advantage of videographers wanting to scale their business. If you look closely at Eric’s ads, he uses the same successful student case studies (about 10 of them) and flashes them quickly over and over again in hopes of the viewer not noticing the repeating names. You cannot trust any of their ads/pitches considering the delusional act of showcasing my own company website as a “successful student case study” to lure other videographers who also had corporate clientele to join even though I had already voiced my extreme disappointment with the program. Overall, this program is very concerning as they do not tailor the program to each individual, the sales coach has a low IQ, and Eric Deeran is just a greedy dude preying on creatives. Edit/Response to Masterfilmmaker: Ah, the typical yet expected gaslight response. If I wasn’t already running a “successful” business or putting in the time, you wouldn’t be using my work as an example to close more deals. I am not the only person who has had this experience, I am just the first person to speak up and say something. This entire program is immoral and unethical and I have over 50 negative testimonials from my peers that were in the program. Trust Pilot does not allow me to insert a Google Drive link but if anyone would like to see these testimonials directly, feel free to find me on LinkedIn or contact me on my company website via email. I would hate for others to get scammed as we all did.

As a client of our program, Maritza continued to fail to listen to the advice of our coaches after we repeatedly gave her step-by-step instructions to complete on a weekly basis. She was incredibly difficult to work with, was rude and belittling to our coaches, and continued to not listen to the advice that was given to her. After she continued to NOT listen to the advice that our coaches gave her, she turned to blame us for her lack of effort and implementation of the program. Our guarantee would have been applicable if Maritza had followed the advice of our coaches. Because she could not take ownership and responsibility for her own actions, she continued to blame us and call us a scam. We continued to try to support her throughout this entire process. Business is hard, and we are very clear that this is not a magic pill and takes consistent determined work (feel free to look at any of our case studies on Trustpilot, or on our homepage) - our successful students have realized, and taken ownership for their own actions and has come with the mindset of “ I’m going to make this work” rather than “Will this work” Maritza prefers to blame everyone else for her lack of success, and continues to prefer to be a victim of her own circumstances rather than taking ownership and doing the work required to grow her business. She even went as far as threatening us and our coaches personally, and she has now resorted to defaming us online. As far as removal from the program, we received dozens of messages from concerned clients, learning in the program, that Maritza was harassing them to the point of sending them messages every day when they refused to respond. She would message them at late hours of the night even after they refused to respond. Because of Maritza’s learning agreement, she was removed from the program because she was affecting other client's experiences. If you’re someone who’s looking for a magic pill that doesn’t require any work, look elsewhere. We help our clients generate more conversations and help them convert those conversations into paying clients. It’s truly sad to see that Maritza would rather blame someone else, than take action and ownership of her own business. Our team is dedicated to our clients success and takes our work very seriously. We do not take on clients to simply “make money” - we want to work with those who want to put in the work required to succeed. Edit/response: We’re sorry you didn’t have a positive experience and we’ve had multiple hundreds of clients in our program over the past years. All we can do is provide our clients with the same exact systems ourself and our clients have used to close high ticket deals. We can not control whether or not you or other clients implement or follow the advice given. Again, we’ve said (and all of our successful clients have said - this requires work and is NOT a magic pill) Business requires work, determination and consistency. It’s up the individual to use the tools, resources, and coaching we’ve provided to leverage that like our other clients. It’s exactly the same as buying a gym membership and not using it.
